We had tried a few places before popping into this lovely place and none of the other restaurants could safely accommodate our food allergies. This restaurant made us feel welcome, safe, well taken care of, and gave us a tasty meal and kind service-all in a fun atmosphere. We will definitely be returning! “My wife and I were in Culpeper today to attend her uncles service at the Culpeper National Cemetary. After the service was looking for a place to eat. My wife and her uncle are Greek and I noticed this gem while looking through Google. We decided to go in his honor. Charlottesville has many Greek owned restaurants but our trip to Albanas was our first time at a place that served totally Greek cuisine. I can't think of the right words to describe our experience that would do justice. I think I have found a new favorite restaurant. The food and atmosphere was so delightful and amazing. The food was so fresh and everything is made in house. The pita bread melted in your mouth and my wife and I ordered the Gyro and we both commented that as Gyro fans it was the very best we had the pleasure to sink our teeth into. We had a awesome Greek salad as well and the dressing was so flavor packed and refreshing. Can't wait to make the trek back to Culpeper again soon to partake in this great establishment. We met Albana while we were there and she was very nice and you can tell she takes great care and pride in what she serves and the customer service from the other staff was supurb as well. This was also our first experience at a restaurant where a robot brings your food out to the table. I was very impressed with the people, food and atmosphere. Culpeper definitely has a little corner of Greece in its midst!”

“We’ve been loyal customers for years and have always considered your ice cream the best around. However, we wanted to let you know about a disappointing experience we had today. The ice cream we ordered—white chocolate raspberry and peanut butter with chocolate sprinkles—had no flavor at all, which is so unlike what we’ve come to expect from Moothur. We’re not ones to complain, but we felt it was important to let you know. Has something changed with how the ice cream is being made? We were truly shocked, as this is not the quality we’ve always loved. Thank you for taking this into consideration.”

“It felt a bit unwelcoming when we walked up. No one greeted us or acknowledged us in any way. It was stuffy inside, so we grabbed a menu and sat outside. We figured out on our own to go inside to order. Pizza and beer were good. Probably won't visit again though.”

“Visited this morning for the first time. It was a fantastic experience. The staff were helpful, friendly, and most importantly knowledgeable. We made three selections. Two were guided (I was looking for an aged Cheddar with crystals) and one impulse buy. All were excellent. This is not the cheese store for your average American cheese consumer, but the perfect place for those with more experienced palates. We will be back!”

“Loved this store. Has a nice mix of local items and general healthy foods plus a very impressive candy, jams, and baked goods. The chicken salad from the deli was clearly fresh and so delicious. I’m mad I didn’t buy more of it. While we were just visiting the area that weekend, I’d happily take the couple hour drive to come back (specifically for the chicken salad and candy!)”

“Good beer and good food. Visited on a Saturday so they didn't have pitchers of beer it was only by the glass. The menus were over the bar. You order at the bar and take a seat. They have hightop seating, booths and tables outside. The have darts in the back. Dogs are welcome. Owners are very nice.”

“I looked everywhere for a local made Caramel Cake for my wife's birthday. I called Knakal and was told they made it. They sell it in 2 or 3 layers. I ordered the 3 layers and drove over 90 miles to pick it up. It was worth the drive! The cake and icing were moist and excellent. When I arrived, I told the lady at the counter it was for my wife's birthday. She turned and went in the back about 5 minutes and returned with Happy Birthday and 2 flowers inscribed on the cake. The cake was DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. Such a great southern treat!”

“This Coffee car truly makes the best coffee compared to any chain such as Starbucks or Dunkin! Their coffee is always delicious, made with love in a cheerful and friendly work environment, and given back to the person who ordered it swiftly!”

“We went to Los Potrillos after hearing about it from locals. Wide variety on the menu. Don't let the location or inside scare you away. Greeted and served by young lady at the counter. She was helpful with descriptions and menu you choices. We had the Gringa, Enchiladas Verde and a Gordita. You will not walk out hungry.”

“One of my favorite, if not the absolute best, places in Culpepper!! The chef is Italian and cooks everything from scratch. Not a microwave in the joint. We couldn't believe how good the food was. We come here every time we pass through on the way to Lake Anna. The cocktails are also on point, with a prohibition flare. There is great history here too! Ask for Sam, she's either bartending or serving tables. You won't regret it!”
