This place is a real retro gem! Everyone was super friendly, the service was fast, and the food was fresh and served hot. I had "The Mormon," a triple cheese grilled cheese with a burger wedged in between, caramelized onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce...heart attack on a plate but so good and worth the splurge! I'm looking forward to going back and trying the "Big Mic."
Whether you believe that this is where Hank Williams ate his last meal or not (there's some disagreement), it's a safe place to get a good burger or hot dog. We had two Shawn Cheesburgers, a Coke, and a chocolate peanut butter milk shake. Quite good. A neighboing table had the two chili dog with fries and said it was his favorite BB meal. All rolled up, the bill was $32, which is not that crazy anymore. Service was very good. I'd go back.
We have been here many times over the past few years, the food has always been on-point, service was always good. We come from Jonesborough just to go here. The last two times we went, they were closed for special events. Totally our fault, we should have checked before going. So we were really excited about going today. My daughter and I love diners!
