Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards

We visited Nicewonder for Valentine’s Day weekend which happened to also be our anniversary and my birthday. We truly could not have picked a better place to visit. We were BLOWN away by the beauty, serenity, and service of Nicewonder Farm & Vineyard. The staff set our visit apart. Our waiter Drew from the Hickory Restaurant made us feel at home from the first breakfast. Drew went above and beyond to make our stay special, remembering our special events complete with signed cards from the staff for our anniversary/my birthday and hand delivered sweet treats and surprises. Our bartenders were lovely and are true craftsman and mixologists (shoutout Bri and Kyle). The food was phenomenal! Chef Travis Milton clearly carefully chose each ingredient and the flavors which complimented each other so nicely. Everything was extremely fresh and house made. The front desk staff were very attentive. Ahmad took the time to tell us the history of the property and the Nicewonder family, including the fascinating story behind the painting in the lobby. We had a wonderful experience at the spa and from the professionalism of the staff to the amenities with the private hot tub and gemstone mats making the experience even better. The property is stunning. The hotel very clean. And we just can’t wait to be back for another wondrous vacation!

Rooms: The room was much bigger than expected and the balcony was large.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th anniversary here and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the moment we walked in Kenyae and Ahmad set the bar high in terms of service/professionalism and during the course of our stay everyone, from restaurant staff to the groundskeepers, maintained that standard.

The design of the hotel and the amenities were all top tier. The heated pool/jacuzzi was a nice, relaxing touch. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to wine but I'd say our favorite two were the '19 Viognier and the '22 Virginian. Regarding food, I own Gordon Ramsey seven days of the week and I cannot stress enough how incredible the food was. From homemade saltines for the charcuterie board to one of the best cuts of beef I've ever had in my life, you could feel the love in everything they served. Obviously at a hotel like this you expect excellence but they took it to another level.

Without question Nicewonder has left an incredible impression on us and we look forward to celebrating more special occasions here in the future

Beautiful resort with great staff! The hot tub with a glass of wine was my favorite part. Restaurant was delicious, especially breakfast. Loved that the yurts and tasting room are both dog-friendly. A great perk for those of us who like to travel with our dogs! The man who checked me in/out was extra nice and helpful. Loved the welcome glass of wine. Heating/cooling unit in the yurt made lots of noise, but luckily they had a separate one in the bathroom (totally quiet) that was able to heat the whole room.

My friend and I came here for a girls weekend and our experience was far more phenomenal than anything we could’ve expected! The staff were exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. They anticipated our every need and even though it was what I would consider the “off season” for wineries, they had plenty of activities for us to partake in. I can’t recommend Nicewonder high enough!

Wow wow wow!!!!!! We just checked out from a great weekend getaway at Nicewonder! I can’t even begin to describe how awesome our stay was! We are already thinking about another trip back!! The breakfast was absolutely delicious (which was included with our stay!) we loved all the amenities and extras here. The room was fantastic with one small issue; our water didn’t get very hot in the shower that would be our only complaint. Doesn’t change the 5 stars I’m giving this beautiful inn! Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed at the Nicewonder over Thanksgiving and we were absolutely blown away! This truly is a 5 star facility. Upon entering the grounds driving in on Nicewonder Drive you get a beautiful view of the main hotel settled in between the vineyards. You can immediately see that they take a lot of pride here because of how well manicured the grounds are. We brought our 2 dogs so we stayed in one of their yurts. The yurts are so well appointed. They're extremely comfortable and fitted out as well as any 5 star hotel we've stayed in. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Some of the features we took advantage of our during our stay included dinner at the Hickory, the fitness room, massages in the spa, and wine tasting. Everything, and I really mean everything, was top notch. It's the small, sometimes unnoticeable details that will separate a 5 star from a 4.5. The Nicewonder owners and management have done a fantastic job of making sure that every detail is looked after. We'll definitely be returning for another stay in the warmer months when we can take advantage of the infinity pool. Thank you Nicewonder for a very enjoyable weekend and allowing us to bring our dogs, they loved it as well (as you can see from their pictures at the wine tasting).

My wife and I just got home from a three-night stay at Nicewonder. This was our second visit to the property and I already can't wait to go back. It's such a peaceful retreat and the staff takes great care of their guests! The resort is easy to get to off the interstate and once on property you feel like you're miles away from everything. The heated pool and hot tub were great and our time at the winery was fun as well. The rooms are so comfortable and private!

I recently visited Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards and had a wonderful experience. The scenery and views were absolutely stunning, providing a peaceful and picturesque setting. The food was decent, though I found myself preferring to dine at nearby restaurants. Despite that, I enjoyed the overall atmosphere and would definitely return, perhaps for a longer stay to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings and amenities.

Rooms: Rooms are stunning, very clean and well organized. You do not hear anyone walking or noise from the rooms around you.

Walkability: Not very walkable in terms of getting to other business.

Noteworthy details: Emily was amazing, she went over and above for not only me but for the rest of my party.

Nicewonder Farm and Vineyards redefined, for me, with wine tasting could be. This was more about rest and relaxation and exploration than just the grapes and what could be crafted from them.

Food and drinks: Top notch eateries, farm to table quality with an eye for presentation. And did I mention it's a vineyard?

Me and my friend had a girls trip and ate at the Hickory restaurant, and it was the PERFECT place for us! Our waiter Briana made our experience special, the brunch was delicious and there were amazing views outside for talking and pictures. So happy we found this place and will definitely come back!!

Absolutely wonderful experience! I would highly recommend this place for food, drink, or a nice stroll. We reserved brunch at Hickory and had a dinning experience outside on the patio. The server was fantastic and the food was very tasty.

Was not happy with the overall experience. I am fine with paying $89-$150 for a steak. But when I pay that amount I expect to be able to pick the sides for the meal that I like that are available at the restaurant. I wanted to order the steak or the pork chop however I have allergies to sides that were paired with each. I simply asked if I could get potatoes, mushrooms, or fries as a side. Each of my requests are on the menu with other entries. I was will to pay more for the substitute; however, the waitress said absolutely not. The chef will not allow this! In our groups of 8 three of us had the same issue and had to order a burger and fries. I will say the $12 burger is delicious and after trying a piece of my wife's steak the burger was much better than the steak.

We tried a few small plates- whipped spam and roasted carrots. Both were so good! The whipped spam is a must try, surprisingly delicious paired with hot sauce and sweet pickles on sesame crackers. The carrots were charred on the ends and done to perfection. We had a few cocktails; both excellent. For the big plates, my husband had the steak- very good but probably wouldn't have again. Not much meat for the price of the meal. I had the trout, deboned, in a yummy mashed potato and it was excellent. Topped off the meal with the Temptations dessert wine. The view was breathtaking. We will be back!
