It actually annoys me how good this food is. It's disgustingly good. The type that makes you not want to share. Pro Tip: Add a side of jalapeños to your Rt. 66 mac and cheese.

My husband, my brother, and I visited MurLarkey last weekend and had such a great time! We did the tasting and every drink was incredibly smooth definitely some of the best I’ve had.🥂The service made the experience even better; the staff were so friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for amazing drinks and a fun atmosphere!🙂

We did the tasting experience. It was, hands down, the best tasting my wife and I have ever done. They provided five spirits to taste, along with five or six ingredients per spirit. They walked us through adding each ingredient to the base spirit, building up the cocktails. It was the best spirit tasting.

I recently visited Malarkey Spirits for a tasting and was genuinely impressed with the quality of the spirits and the ambiance of the tasting room. However, my experience at the merchandise store was a completely different story and not in a good way.

An employee named Lindsey was shockingly rude and dismissive. From the moment we walked in, her attitude was cold and condescending. When we asked simple questions about merchandise, she acted like we were bothering her. Her tone was snarky, and her body language made it clear she didn’t want to help. It was such a stark contrast to the welcoming environment of the tasting room that it left a sour taste in my mouth.

What a nice place to grab a solid drink. They drinks are super fresh and the samples of their products were great to have in your inventory at home for sure. They are still developing the inside place for a longer stay but you can definitely sample, grab and go.

I recently went to the new MurLarkey location with a friend who has raved about this place for years. She’s been a loyal fan, always recommending it and talking about how amazing the drinks are — especially the cocktails crafted by “Papi.” So naturally, I was excited to check it out with her.

Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype — not even close.

We drove two hours to get there, only to be told that we needed a reservation made through an app (Resy), which was never mentioned on their website. My friend had tried to call in advance and check online, but got no response and no clear instructions. When we arrived, the staff was cold and dismissive. Even when she explained the situation — including the long drive and the attempts to reach out — they didn’t try to accommodate us at all. There was empty patio seating, but they still refused to seat us without any courtesy or care.

Trying to stay positive, we went to 2 Silos nearby to eat and came back later, hoping at least to enjoy the cocktails she remembered and loved. But even that was a letdown — the new location doesn’t serve those unique, creative drinks anymore. The menu was basic and could’ve belonged to any standard bar or restaurant.

Honestly, it was disappointing not just because of the bad customer service or the lack of standout cocktails, but also because my friend was clearly embarrassed after speaking so highly of this place. I could tell she really wanted us to have a great time and support a spot she’s loved for years — but it just didn’t deliver.

Unless things change, I wouldn’t recommend the new MurLarkey location. It’s out of the way, the customer service was lacking, and it’s lost the charm and originality that apparently made it special in the first place.

I’ve been a huge fan of MurLarkey for years and have recommended it to countless friends and family. It was my go-to spot for unique, high-quality cocktails — especially because of Papi’s amazing drink creations. However, my recent visit to their new location left me incredibly disappointed.

First off, I tried to make a reservation through their website, but there was no clear option to do so. I also attempted to call several times with no answer. Still wanting to support them, I decided to make the two-hour drive with a couple of friends. When we arrived, I was shocked to find out that reservations were required and only available through the Resy app — something not mentioned or made clear on their site.

I explained the situation to the staff, hoping for some understanding or flexibility, especially since the patio was visibly empty. Unfortunately, they were dismissive and outright rude, simply saying “no” without even trying to offer alternatives. It was embarrassing, especially since I was the one who had talked up the place so much to my friends.

Still trying to salvage the evening, I suggested we grab food at 2 Silos and come back for drinks. But when we returned, we found that the new MurLarkey location no longer offers the creative, craft cocktails that made the original location so special. Instead, they now serve basic, generic drinks you can find anywhere. The originality is gone.

Between the poor customer service, lack of clear communication, and the major drop in drink quality and uniqueness, I can no longer recommend MurLarkey. It breaks my heart to say that — this used to be one of my favorite places. Sadly, it now feels like just another generic restaurant. A truly disappointing experience from a place I once loved and truly supported.

We went and found a building that was either being demolished, or having major construction done: Either way, the building was closed, and the GPS had no knowledge that it was closed. Maybe the place moved…?

I’ve never felt more unwelcome in an establishment than I did there from the moment we walked in our group was getting looks that I’ve never seen before in my entire life. We walked through the dining room area to the bar, and every single eye was on us. it took us 45 seconds to realize that we were not welcome there at all and we left.
