Owners were great. Enjoyed some good wine, we had an awesome time.
When visiting Caret Cellars I was greeted warmly by the staff. I was given a small tour of the facility and was pleased by the atmosphere. I also love the events that they host here for the community. This place is truly a hidden gem. I recommend taking the time to visit the vineyard. When driving into their location, you pass down a small gravel road into dappled sunlight that comes through the trees, and as you round the corner, to vineyard opens up before you. It truly is a sight to see.
This is one of the best kept secrets of Virginia. Great place to just relax. Bring a lunch enjoy and talk to the owner. He knew was so much and is so willing to give a lesson on wine. The Chamborcine is one of the best Chamborcine wine you will taste. All the wine is great..
Owner was very nice and knowledgeable. Good wine.
Nice little tasting room in a nice location. A tasting of five wines was $10, and the wines were pretty good. The Winery is veteran owned.
Here on a beautiful Sunday late afternoon detour after checking out homes for sale in the area. This one is off the beaten path but well worth the visit. Wife and I sampled all their available offerings and were impressed at the complex flavors of each. My wife is a white, stainless steel wine aficionado and I prefer reds. We both enjoyed ALL their offerings! The Rivah Red and Traminette are standouts; however, I recommend you try all they have to offer. Dogs are welcome and you can bring your own food. So quiet and peaceful here. Highly recommend a visit!
Pretty place, nice people, dog friendly, but not my favorite wine. Will try again when they have more reds ready.
I stopped by Caret Cellars after a weekend family engagement in the area— the funeral of my dear great uncle. I was hoping to lift my spirits before a long trip back to Washington, DC. Indeed, I left with lifted spirits and a smile!I was so happy I stopped. The wines were incredible as was the conversation with R.D. who conducted the tasting at a leisurely, friendly and informative pace.I ended up leaving with six bottles!!! My favorites are the Traminette & Rivah Red.I reached my Grandparents’ house at the halfway point home and we opened a bottle of Rivah Red and the family loved it!I plan to visit Caret Cellars again during a happier occasion, so I can fully enjoy the experience of their wraparound porch and beautiful views!
Idyllic, quiet, and remarkable. Make a stop here to sample some of these incredibly crafted wines. The Trimanette is something to write home about, so get a bottle or two or three. Much more complex than your typical sugary trimanette this one is delightful! I was also very enamored with the reserve Chardonnay, and my party loved the Sangiovese, which is hard to find in Virginia. I would love to come back and try the white merlot, and everything else they make. We're told their sweet Rivah Red is a local favorite. Can't beat the tasting price, plus it's dog friendly indoors as well, which is amazing! Can't say enough good things. Perfect detour right off rt 17. Will be back!!!
All their wines are great. I highly recommend to anyone with discriminating tastes. The sangiovese was wonderful. Can't wait for cooler temps.

They weren't open to the public the day we stopped but R.D. offered to give us a wine tasting anyway. Thanks so much!
Great wines! Loved white merlot, pinto grigio, and sangiovese but can't turn any of them down. Stop by! Will be back!
My wife and I went back to get more of the white merlot. This is an awesome wine that we can not get in Kansas.
Awesome boutique winery. The saviognese is full of flavor and very unique.
The Chardonnays and Pinot Grigio are wonderful! The Sangiovese exotic. All of the wines are exceptional. I make a 4 hour round trip to buy their wines. They're that good! The owner and those who work with him are passionate in their love of making great wine. Great to listen as they talk.
