Went in for lunch today. I sat down and placed my order. The waitress took it and then came by the table and said it was an extra charge for chicken on the Cheese Sauce Chicken Enchalidas. I responded with " how much?" She said an additional 4.95. I asked to see the menu. It said 2.00 addition for shrimp or steak? I asked why it was 4.95 extra and she said they haven't had a chance to change the menus. 18.95 for lunch enchiladas- I said no thanks and then she wanted 3.25 for the tea. Never again! A customer leaving said I was lucky because the food had gotten horrible there!

Fix the massive hole in your parking lot! At best you damage customers cars. At worst someone falls and gets hurt.

Stale chips, flat soda, cold, congealed beans, and soupy tacos with no flavoring - top it off with a server who vanished between taking our order and bringing the ticket and you'll be remembering Rancho Viejo with an exaggerated fondness.

Good was better than expected. Service and atmosphere was excellent. The table side guacamole was huge but delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal and dessert greatly. Might be making this a weekly family dinner spot.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to since moving from California 9 years ago. Their cheese sauce is FANTASTIC! I don't know what they put in it, but I could eat it all day! And their street tacos are amazing!Parking: Large parking lot. Parking up the side and front and good sized spaces. Is just a little hard to get into the place from the main road if you're coming from the north side.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly, they have a kids menu and the restaurant is bright and friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access from main corner entrance. There are double doors getting in the place so that makes things a little tough.

Food was good. But the Xangos were delicious. Definitely worth it if you stick around for dessert.

We used to go there often when it was another Mexican restaurant. We gave El Mezcal a shot and were not disappointed. The salsa was very good to start. Had a little kick. Our entrees came out very fast. We both ordered the Pollo Jalisco, which was chicken with zucchini, sweet red peppers and onions with extra cheese sauce and unlike the nearby restaurant where I usually order a similar dish, this one had onions. They Made all the difference in my opinion. The black beans were seasoned beautifully and mixed into the dish with the rice made it savory and delicious. Veggies were cooked perfectly, chicken seared just right. I loved it. We also ordered Guacamole and it was fresh and delicious. Price point was typical. 2 dinners and a tall draft Modelo $60 with a 20% tip. We'll for sure be back.

My husband and I really enjoy this place and it’s close to home. However the last few times service has been not so great & then today we went for a couple drinks and an appetizer and had terrible service from this male. He wouldn’t stand by our table long enough for us to order and was very rude throughout our visit. We specified we wanted the happy hour and then charged us full price. At the end we waited for him to give us our change back so we could appropriately tip and he just assumes the change was his.. funny enough , if he would have given our change back he still would have gotten a better tip than what he gave himself… really disappointing experience. Hopefully they can work on that so the experience matches the food. Today was a reminder as to why we do carry out mostly.

Food quality has significantly gone down. Chips were stale, taco salad has no beans in it, the veggies were minimal, burrito had some little steak it was sad. Overall has gone down since opening.
