Overhyped. Overpriced. Crowded, no room to park, no room to dine, no service at all here which is shocking given the positive reviews of this place. Would not dine here again
For one, this place was crowded. I walked in and it was so congested you could barely walk or navigate through the establishment. I was so grossed out that they had a plethora of baked goods sitting out in displays and people were reaching into the displays grabbing good with their bare hands! They were touching over goods changing their minds, and putting goods back. Who in their right minds would pay premium price (8-9$) for a donut someone picked over thats been sitting out all day? They had quiches in the displays that looked as if they had been sitting out HOURS. Food poisoning waiting to happen. It was just so much going on in here i was so uncomfortable
There was no service here AT ALL. The workers looked overstimulated and stressed themselves. They did NOT want to be bothered and were so rude and unfriendly.
I believe the positive reviews of this place cant possibly be real! This place was an absolute nightmare.

This place was WAYYY OVERHYPED OVERRATED & to top it off OVERPRICED
Coffee-mehh. Mini cups of coffee( $$) desert .. they seem soo unhygienic-overcrowded shit stacked everywhere. Not my vibe. Dirty tables floors, dirty display cases. So I was scared to have anything from the displays that ppl are allowed to get from. (There’s a way to do this right) this place is just dirty.

It's been a couple of years since we last visited Chateau de Chantilly Café, and we were excited to return. However, things have definitely changed. It seems like the ownership may have shifted, as the previous Asian bakery influence is completely gone. Instead, the pastries now lean heavily toward overly sweet, Middle Eastern flavors, to the point where they feel overpowering.
One of the biggest disappointments was the removal of bingsu (Korean shaved ice) from the menu. We also ordered a simple iced coffee and boba tea, but unfortunately, both were undrinkable—they tasted worse than cheap, instant drinks from the store.
The atmosphere still looks nice, but the seating is overwhelmingly occupied by students studying for long periods, making it hard to find a spot.
That said, many people seem to love this place, so perhaps it’s just not for me anymore. If you enjoyed the old Chateau de Chantilly Café, you might find it a very different experience now.

A wonderful place for ambience and bakery. Drinks not so much and Service not to much either.
I go there regularly for the Bakery and pastries but "NOT" for a good coffee or a Boba , I steer away!

The new management has raised the prices, but the selection remains excellent.
We had high expectations for Chateau de Chantilly Cafe, but unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. We ordered a croissant, two packs of cookies, two tiramisus, a carrot cake, and a baklava—spending a total of $80—only to find that not a single item was enjoyable.
Tiramisu (5/10) – The best of the bunch, but still mediocre. It used cake instead of ladyfingers, had a weak coffee flavor, and was overloaded with cocoa powder to the point of making us choke.
Carrot Cake (4/10) – Moist but completely bland. The frosting wasn’t overly sweet, which we appreciated, but it lacked any real cream cheese flavor.
Baklava (2/10) – Incredibly dry and flavorless. Easily the worst baklava we’ve ever had—cheaper alternatives elsewhere would be far better.
Cookies (0/10) – Hard as a rock and so dry we couldn’t even get through a single bite. Absolutely inedible.
We had heard good things about this place, and maybe they have better options, but based on what we tried, we have no interest in returning. Spending another $80 for such an underwhelming experience just isn’t worth it. We most likely won’t be returning so we don’t waste more money on this place.

"Great pastries, but chaotic atmosphere. Too many people occupying tables without ordering, making it hard to sit and enjoy”

This is a cute cafe with great rotating pastries and in-house made drinks. The bread/pastries are a serve your own style, either on a dine-in tray or a to-go box. You can then get in the register line, be sure to take a look at their refrigerator cases along the line of cakes and more pastries! There is a wide selection of drinks, all made by their baristas. This place is very popular, so seating can be scarce during peak hours but the atmosphere is great and the added upstairs seating is a wonderful and much needed addition.

If you have a sweet tooth and in your in this area you have to stop in. This place does not disappoint. I was overwhelmed with the selections! To be honest some of the pastries looked like art and you can tell alot of love is being put into these master pieces. Will definitely be back!!

Bummed. I have to subtract a star from what I just witnessed. One of the employees sneezed multiple times. (No big deal everyone does it) but she did not wash her hands, move away from the equipment or anything. Gross. Then I tried to avoid her being my cashier but my luck just ran out. I asked for a pastry from the counter. I thought she was put gloves on or use a tong. She didn't. Whhhhhy me. I then asked for another and for her to use tongs or gloves or hell a napkin. She stated that she only handle it from the tiny handle it comes on with no attempt to accommodate. I was quite disappointed. I will definitely have to find another place like this because my conscious will not allow me to eat here. Not in this covid climate. Daaaaamn!

In theory...I really like this place and would love to try more of their pastries and coffees, but it is so so so crowded to a point where sometimes I don't have the energy to be there. I'm waiting 15 minutes to order a drink, and even longer to get my drink...stressing out about finding a spot (have never been able to get a table upstairs) and am usually waiting for a table to clear up:
Great for them! That they are so busy- but unless I'm in the area with no other places to go, I usually choose or recommend an alternative if I'm meeting a group.
I've tried lattes and caramel macchiato-- and it's average. Their croissants are interesting. I did enjoy their ice cream- kind of custardy, but very sweet- wasn't able to finish it with a friend.
Seating upstairs, downstairs, and outside but still hard to find a seat- very loud.

A very crowded cafe with very pretty pastries. I really appreciated the self serve options, that certainly made things convenient. The pastries are very aesthetic and very good. They avoid being overly sweet. Everything is on the pricier side...however, I do feel like the product does justify the price. The only thing that I felr was sort of a less than good was the coffee. I got a butterscotch latte and the coffee was pretty weak and did not taste like much. I will try to visit again while I am in the area.
