El Granito de Oro Reviews
A wonderful discovery for a gringo loco! The ladies working here were very helpful with a caring tone. Tasty carne asada tacos and pupusas quesos! I shall return for the great taste, good prices, and overall experience.
This is my 2nd time in this place. The 1st time all was great and the owner is very nice. However, this time around NOT the same experience. Received my order when I checked my mouth just droped to see the amount of meat in my taco. The amount of meat was less then a table spoon. I asked the lady that served the order and showed to her the amount of meat. She responded with an attitude, " this is the amount of meat we serve, and that's what you get." El Granito de Oro is a small restaurant with around 5 tables, perfect for carry out. The food is delicious, with options like chicken tacos, cheese pupusas, chorizo tacos, and pork pupusas. The pupusas are tasty, especially the yuca with chicharron, which is a favorite. The chicharron has a great meat to fat ratio. Other menu items like tacos de lengua and al pastor are also delicious and authentic.
The storefront is very small with about 3-4 tables, but the experience is worth it for the excellent food. Customers have described the food as "delish" and "yummy goodness," with the pupusas and tamales being particularly praised. The staff is hardworking and friendly, although there may be a language barrier at times.
The restaurant is tucked away in an industrial park, but it is worth the effort to find this "gem." The food is described as fantastic and inexpensive, and the atmosphere, while basic, is all about the food. Customers have enjoyed a variety of dishes, including tacos, elotes locas, Chocobananas, and pupusas, all of which have been excellent.
