I stopped in here with my parents and kids for a late lunch after the Uvdar-Hazy Center. It was around 2pm on a Saturday and a steady stream of business flowed both before and after us. Order at the counter, get a buzzer, and then pick up your food at the counter. They have a salsa bar that also has jalapeño,onions,and limes. They have a few beers (corona, Dos Equis,modèlo) and margaritas too. Chips are complimentary. My mom and I both had the #10 lunch special-2 carne asada tacos with guacamole. The meat was tender and I liked the chunky guacamole. The tortillas were grilled which was a nice touch too. It came with rice and beans (pinto or black) too; all for $9.49. My dad had the enchiladas and seemed to enjoy them too. I appreciated the freshness and authentic flavors of our meals and would definitely recommend eating here!

I was a little skeptical about this place because I was in search of a regular degular authentic Mexican restaurant. It seemed there weren't many/any in a close radius to that area. Soooo I gave it try based on the reviews here on Yelp...along with the pictures (thanks Yelp users!). Okay, so the outside caused me to rub my hands together like Birdman (google for full visual), in complete anticipation of the food. The patio was inviting with nice colors and ample tables. Upon waking inside, the establishment offered signage that stated Happy Hour was is from 2pm-6pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful The young lady that took my order was very knowledgeable when I told her my food preferences. She gave a great recommendation! I started with queso and chips.. There's a separate counter that holds a salsa bar (pico, mild, medium, verde, onions, and peppers) for the complimentary chips or whatever else you would like to sauce up. I had Elote which was seasoned well and it had a good juicy crunch. The Shrimp Taco Platter came with black beans and rice. The tacos needed a little sauce, but that could've been me because I like my tacos dripping. The black beans and rice were flavorful and not dry . Although a different taste than authentic Mexican, I was happy the food wasn't dry and lacked flavor. I washed down my meal with a refreshing Frozen Peach Margarita. I will say if you in the area check it out for yourself. You can't beat the price, cleanliness, friendliness, and overall decent food.

Fantastic for catering! I ordered lunch for a group of 100 and everything was prepared perfectly and quickly. Steve, the owner, was very easy to work with and professional. Special orders were all labeled and there were not missing items. They even gave us a little extra! All the chips were packaged individually to limit the spread of germs. Seriously great service! I will definitely consider them again for catering.

My go to for Mexican cheap eats! $9.49 lunch specials, comes with chips and salsa. Food is good for the price. Breakfast is also good. Nice atmosphere.

I have no clue on earth why this place has good reviews. We came here two weeks ago and the first thing we noticed was trash everywhere by the entrance from the neighboring businesses.Walked in on Friday at 5 and no one was there - bad sign. Service was friendly but the food I can only describe as “cafeteria Mexican day”. Rice had no flavor, everything was just super bland. To top it off there was this lady blowing balloons inside and she wouldn’t stop talking to us while we ate.There are tons of other great places to get Mexican food in this area - avoid this one.
What a pleasant experience. Good food. Fresh and served quickly. Would definitely come again. What is there not to like?

I have ordered a couple times from here for lunch and the food has always been so-so, but I am a teacher with 20 minutes to eat and not many delivery places nearby. Well, I am crossing El Fresco off my list. Last week, two other teachers and I put in an order at 11:20. It didn't come until 1:20. When I called to see where our order was, the guy who answered the phone snapped "we're kinda busy." I hope us never ordering from there again helps with the problem. Oh, and when lunch finally arrived - stone cold.
