HotSpot in Chantilly is one of my go-to places for hot pot! The quality of the meats and ingredients is always fresh, and they offer a great variety of options, whether you’re craving a hearty soup or want to grill right at your table. The all-you-can-eat deal is definitely worth it, especially if you’re going with a group.

Smells amazing as soon as you walk through the doors. We ordered the family hot pot - split pot with your choice of two broths. Ingredients were fresh and all tasted so good. There's a make-your-own dipping sauce bar in the back with recipe ideas on several screens. I went with chili sauce, black vinegar, fish sauce and cilantro. Turned out delicious.

The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining how to order. We chose a few items on the menu - meats, vegetables, noodles, and ordered additional items during the meal. It worked out perfect with no wasted items. I will say if you get the Sichuan broth go for regular as it's spicy enough. If you like lava go for spicy.

Beautiful. Splendid. Wonderful. Glorious. Matchless. Some of the words that pop up in my head when I eat at hotspot.

From the moment you walk in, the amazing music choices from the staff makes you immersed in the hotspot experience.

My server, Ted, was just so amazing. Shout out to Ted!

The unlimited sauce bar really caught my eye. It really has everything you need for an authentic hotpot experience.

Alcohol, cocktails, mocktails, and sodas… Hotspots bar has it all!

All the food options make it the best hotpot experience in NoVA.

Thank you Hotspot!

Today I came to hotspot with my mom and we had an amazing time our servers name was shreevasha sorry if I spelled it wrong. Not only was she kind but she did a fantastic job I’ve never seen someone single handedly take care of more than 10 tables. Thank you for ur service

We had an awesome time with our first hot pot experience. The staff at Hot Spot were very kind and friendly in helping us make the choice about our table configuration. Everything we ordered was delicious, and it all came with suggested cooking times. We'll be back for sure.

I was so confused about how this works.
Thought from reading menu we each made choices for our own pot, but no.
Instead as a group we chose our 3 proteins, our 6 veggies, and 1 starch...or something like that.
Although I didn't mind that, my brain imploded at that point. I didn't want to strategize through all those food options when the music was so loud I could barely hear myself think.
Also confusing from the description I was going to make my own bowl of Ramen soup.
Turns out the broth is the cooking medium from which I was to pull out my cooked food.
It overcooked my ribeye even though I quickly removed it.
The scallops arrive frozen, which take forever to cook...then was difficult to determine when it cooked through, because the inside was still frozen while the outside was cooked. A member of our party bit into his hot scallop only to discover the inside was still frozen.
I only had a small bowl to put my cooked food in, then I had no idea how to eat it, since the bowl was so small. There was no way to cut the food up.
It takes forever to cook mini batches...I was starving.
Everything was tasteless, even though I dropped all my seasonings, like garlic, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions from the bar to flavor the broth.
I also burned myself from the hot broth.
I've had amazing Ramen soup elsewhere for much cheaper...in a large bowl!
The music was so loud I couldn't hear anyone in my group.

You're probably used to the hot pot spiel by now. In case you're uninitiated, at hot pot places like Hot Spot here, you pick your soup base from a bunch of possible options - se chuan, tom yum, herbal, etc. Then you order a bunch of raw meat and veggies to cook in your soup. You have a personal cooker for your soup and you can adjust the heat. There's also a sauce bar in the back where you mix your own flavor of sauce. Look up the sauce bar for sauce recipes.

The place could get crowded on Friday and weekend nights. If the weather is cold like it's a hot pot kind of day, you can expect an hour's wait. The original Hot Spot (not this location) used to be one of the only ones in the area a few years back. Now, there are so many options. I cannot say anything stands out about this particular establishment. The food is alright. If you live nearby and don't want to drive far, it's a good hot spot option. For me, the soup bases are not as punchy here. That's only my preference. If you do prefer your soup on the lighter side, this could be a perfect "Hot Spot" for ya.

My friend and I came on a Saturday at 3 expecting the adult lunch price as listed on the menu on the website. Shockingly to find out that it was actually charged as the dinner price for adults on weekends. We understood and ended up not tipping our server after finishing our meal. Usually we tip everywhere we eat as it is custom however we are two broke high schoolers. The meal was satisfactory and pretty good hot pot. After we left, our server, Esther, chased us outside the restaurant demanding a tip and stating it was the only way she would get paid. Both my friend and I have worked in the service industry and adapted to not receiving tips as it is based on the customers choice. Our server then proceeded to justify why she should get a tip, saying she gave us water, brought out our food. However, water should be a given and she didn’t even bring out our food… different employees brought it out. All she did was take our order and we cooked the food ourselves as it was hot pot. She demanded the tip and I simply stated we wouldn’t be coming here again because of this experience. She therefore threatened us from returning with printing our pictures to the wall… after I had already said we wouldn’t be back. While it is understandable to be upset about not receiving a tip, tipping is not a legal requirement and not something our server should be chasing us and demanding for.
