A Familiar Taste That Never Changes.
It had been about a year since my last visit to Kohyang Jip, and nothing much has changed — the same small dining space, the worn-out interior, and a modest selection of Korean dishes. But there's something comforting about that consistency.

This time, I tried the nakji (octopus) dish for the first time.
The seasoning wasn’t overpowering, but it had depth — just the kind of flavor that makes you want another bite of rice. The food here always hits a solid middle ground — nothing flashy, but always reliable and satisfying.

Thank you, Kohyang Jip. I’ll be back again.

The food might seem a little pricey, but the portions are huge and the taste is amazing — definitely worth every penny.

Best Korean soup in the area. The Gamjatang is a must try. Not only is the food delicious but the prices are reasonable with fantastic service.

Overwhelming amount of meat 😎, delicious soup

The pork bone soup is great. Side dishes taste great too.
However, the liver shows green in the blood sausage take out and taste bitter. Had to spit out.

Delicious korean food..
Decent line if you go during peak time but table rotation is pretty fast.
Go early or late if you don't like waiting.

I submitted bone haejangguk, but the owner changed and the taste definitely changed.
They gave us a lot of meat, but the food was bland.
It was my favorite restaurant in Virginia, but the taste was a bit disappointing.

The hygiene and service were excellent. The sundae soup had a bit too much garlic, but it was still decent, and surprisingly, the gamjatang and seolleongtang were very delicious. There was quite a long line during meal times. I think it’s a great restaurant.

Lovely small restaurant with delicious food. We ordered 4 dishes (Somory Gukbap, Bulgolgi Dolsot, and 2 Budae Jjigae) and were able to bring leftovers home - they were just as good reheated.

There is a lot of meat in Sundaeguk, but the taste of the soup, which used to be rich and creamy, has changed to light and has lost its individuality, and it is a pity that the pig ears have been replaced with other meat. In the past, I liked my hometown >> Tosokchon when it came to sundae soup, but now I think Tosokchon is better when it comes to soup.

Apparently this is a very popular Korean restaurant. We had to wait for a while for seats. Lots of Koreans are having meals here so it did look like an authentic Korean restaurant. The menu is only two pages, very limited selections but things are all looking delicious (except the beef soup we had). Side dishes were awesome and we loved the big pig trotter platter. Portion size was great and we took a lot home. Some of the servers weren’t as great and kept forgetting things. Our tea ran out for a while and no one came to top it up. We told one server about it but nothing changed. We told the second one and finally got extra tea. Really hope they can improve on this.
