I had originally given this place 5 stars, and have dined here very often over the last 3 years and always loved the chicken and fries especially. But lately the quality of the food has gone downhill.

Last time I ordered the chicken was incredibly dry and I wrote it off as a fluke. But last night sealed the deal, the chicken is simply terrible. I don't know what happened, but this place can no longer produce hot, fresh, juicy chicken -- It's terrible. I can get better chicken heating up frozen chicken from the grocery store, there are just way too many better options in the area for fried chicken to ever try this Roaming Rooster ever again.

Roaming Rooster in Chantilly used to be very good. But they must have started cost cutting or something, because it has gone WAY downhill this year. The food is so bad now. You can buy frozen chicken tenders & fries that taste much better than this place. We first noticed this in July 2025, so we avoided them for awhile but hoped they were just having a bad day. Then we ate there again this week (Nov. 2025) and it's still terrible, maybe even worse. None of the food seems fresh anymore. It seems like it was all frozen and was cooked days ago and has been sitting out since then. SO BAD. AVOID THIS PLACE. Maybe they needed to find ways to save money, but now the food isn't worth buying.

The service we got here was quite pleasant!
They loaded us with fries and the OG Nashville (5/10 on the spiciness level) was packed with flavor coming from both the slaw and the perfectly cooked chicken 🤌🏻

Really disappointed with this place. I had to wait a while just for someone to come from another store to take my order. The sandwich was tiny — just a small piece of chicken and that’s it. The fries looked like leftovers and barely filled the box. I paid $11.99 for what felt like half a meal. The staff wasn’t friendly or professional, and even the fountain drink tasted bad. Definitely not coming back.

Today was the first time I tried this place with my family. The employees were nice. Had to wait a little while but it was worth it. The food was delicious. The chicken varies in spice level. Definitely recommend getting the chicken at the mild level if you don't or can't handle spicy food.

Love this place. Usually my Friday go to for lunch. Staff is awesome. This isn't an atmosphere place, it's delicious chicken sandwiches.

I tried their food for the first time yesterday, based on a recommendation of a new employee at my place of work. I was absolutely shocked by how delicious the sandwich was. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the rooster sauce was dynamite! After lunch, I recommended it to another coworker who then also ordered it for lunch and tried it for the first time. She said she had the same experience I had- life changing! If you’re looking for a chicken sandwich, this is the place to go!
