Very delicious, authentic and inexpensive Hong Kong dim sum here. Wonderful service from the waitstaff as well. The soups, Kung pao chicken and steamed buns were all great. I do have a suggestion for them to improve their Mapo Tofu: serve it warmer and on a hotter plate. It got cold very fast and the meat served with it didn’t taste that fresh.

Taste of Hong King seems to have evolved in taste over the years. It was the shining star for really good Cantonese food years before covid19 hit but the food tastes tired now. It feels like Taste of Hong King is more like an outpost for Cantonese food far away from the main hub of really good Asian restaurants east of Chantilly. As a restaurant survivor from the brutal covid years, the price of food has certainly increased quite a bit. In fact, it is a surprise to see dimsum prices higher than new dimsum places east of this location - which is unusual since most food prices tend to increase as you travel east closer towards DC.

But what has always made Taste of Hong Kong unique are the claypot rice options and salted yolk (or aka "golden") fried squash which you just cannot find anywhere else. The dimsum dishes and quality looks and tastes "fatiqued" and is expensive; so I prefer going to the newer dimsum place down the road. But there's really no real Hong Kong-ish style restaurant around the Chantilly area so it's the best place to get you Cantonese food fix if you don't feel like driving to Maryland or 10-15 miles east to DC.

A friend recommended a Taste of Hong Kong after we lost our favorite Cantonese diem sum restaurant during the pandemic. My husband and I came here on a Sunday to dine -in. We were immediately seated and were able to select 5-6 dishes within the first 5 minutes! The servers were very welcoming and spoke to me in Cantonese which made the experience even better. We were like little kids and ordered way too much food, and as they say, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs!! They had a great selection, we had the basics, ha gow, siu mei, cha siu bows, ga lan broccoli with oyster sause, cheng fun, jeen der, eggplant and turnip cakes. I know I'll be back to try more dishes. The food was tasty and met expectations. Overall, I gave them 5 stars but a 4 for atmosphere. It was a little noisy and the decor outdated. Nonetheless, it was a good experience with good diemsum and service.

I used to love this place, but today it left a sour taste in my mouth and will not go back again.
I ordered mapo tofu, it was too salty, I can't eat it. I told the manager my concern, she went to kitchen, didn't come out again, we waited for a while for what they will do, nothing, so we called one server attention and raised our concern again. He called the lady manager, she came to us and told ua she tasted it and not salty! What kind of customer service is that? We took our bill and yes they still made us paid for it, we left. Very frustrated with my experience, never will I come back again. Better to go to Mark's duck at falls church.

They never have anything I ask for…every time I order something it’s no problem but as soon as I ask to substitute something in the order…all of a sudden they don’t have it.

Transplant from Georgia, so I am a frequent at Canton House, Oriental Pearl, Royal China. I wanted to find a decent dim sum place in VA and didn't want to drive to Marks Duck House bc of traffic, so I went to Taste @ Hong Kong and immediately walking in at 1115 it immediately reminded me of Buford Highway, older chinese guest speaking loudly and eating, and many other asian families enjoying dim sum. So I was immediately thrilled as this was a good sign it'll be okay. Once seated I asked for hot tea and the lady asked for my order, I was a bit confused as I saw the dim sum steam cart right by the register so I just said dim sum, but she was asking what specifically, so once I told her she went back to the cart and got it for me. It wasn't too much longer that another lady started pushing the cart and stopped right at my table to ask if I wanted any but I just pointed to the table I already had it. The carts circled the room maybe twice while I was eating, but the servers were pretty attentive and if you just asked for something, they'd go get it from the kitchen or carts for you.

Overall, I was extremely happy. I stuck with typical shu mai, hargow, rice noodle with shrimp, taro dumpling, and taro cake. It was all hot and delicious.

I def will return and told friends they need to come with to experience dim sum

I just ate the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. It even had pineapple and peppers. I very highly recommend.

Walked into this place and stench of foul odor hits you like a jackhammer. Not a good sign and everything feels dirty as if washing or cleaning was never done in this place.

Regarding this restaurant, way overpriced food that’s way too salty. Tried for the first time and will be for the last time.

Also, waiter kept spitting everywhere and he put on a mask after done spitting on his arms and everywhere possible. What goes on behind the scenes, only God knows because I’m not going back to this place to find out.

I eat here quite often since it’s the closest authentic Chinese restaurant to me. The staff are pretty nice (however can be a bit pushy with the dim sum)
