This restaurant is a very rustic gem. The food was amazing and the people there were awesome. Some of the grannies at the bar loved my fedora! There was also live music. The bathrooms were clean and stocked up with chapstick, toothpicks, and mints. There was also a “Pin where you are from” board and I was surprised of how much people come from all over the place.
Maan...I got the special today. The southern fried chicken with the Tabasco sauce and honey with mash potatoes and squash and and zucchini and a homemade roll and a salad..that chicken..was everything!! DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend!

We don't get down there as much as we want to. One of our favorite places. The ambiance is just phenomenal. Good and service is the best.

Culs is a regular stop when cycling on the Capital Trail. A much needed break to eat and recharge.

The tour guides at the Berkeley Plantation recommended this restaurant to a friend and I as we were traveling on vacation. The restaurant is in an old store. The atmosphere is laid back and fun. The food is very good as is the service.
We stopped on our way through and we're pleased. Our waitress was very pleasant and the food was good. Not particularly busy and service was quick.
Don't pass this by because of the outside it is well worth the stop. Great food, beer selections and atmosphere. The service was great and the servers were all very nice and helpful. Try the onion rings - best ever and the smoked Turkey sandwich when available - excellent.
Was looking for an old, local, hole-in-the-wall type place with something other than modified Sysco food and man did they deliver! Food, service, staff and atmosphere was great. A 150+ year old mercantile has been turned in to a great little restaurant. Best part - THE RESTROOMS were the best we've seen in a comparable place in years LOL. Don't pass this treasure by if you're in the area.

Met Bonnie tonight and learned about the history of the area while having a beer& fried green tomatoes. Last minute decision to get a drink and glad we made the stop. Will definitely comeback next time for dinner. Cute place rich in history with a great host!
Wow! Right along the Virginia Capitol trail you would not expect a little place to deliver such excellent food. I am somewhat of a fried shrimp snob and these are honestly some of the best I've had (but it's usually just Saturday they serve them, so I've heard). Since it was Sunday I had a burger, which was perfectly cooked to order and delicious. My bride had a chicken sandwich which was very good as well. Fries were hot, nicely seasoned and tasty. Had a nice cold beer and cider as well.
Nice little restaurant not too far off the Capitol Trail. Establishment is easy to get to, has plenty of parking, and a decent amount t of indoor/outdoor seating. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food is good, however burgers seem to be a little more on the overcooked side.
Excellent Food, Service. Quaint stop riding the Capital Trail. Portions are generous, the roastbeef sandwich and humus were awesome

In adding to the opinions of 1075 other people, who, from observing a map with pins all over the surface of this World, are coming here to Virginia to enjoy visiting and exploring and eating fine food, I MUST say that this establishment is a REALLY COOL EATS JOINT, which is joining a growing list of such venues all over The Old Dominion.
When I was going from my truck to the back deck, I stopped a nice couple leaving for home in WillieBurg and asked them what was the best thing on the menu and they said to me in unison: EVERYTHING ! is GOOD here.
Abby, a very nice young lady just graduated from high school, who was waiting on the tables in mid-afternoon by herself, was very adept at her job. The smash burger and fries were excellent and she kept my iced tea fresh the entire time. She is going to be entering into the P.A. Curriculum at Longwood this fall and has the traits of paying attention to her surroundings and noticing the needs of other people, so she will certainly be a good P/A for a medical practice one day when she has all the book learning behind her.
I will try to go back there several more times before the Summer is gone. AND I hope Abby is there when I do.
