Gigi's Cupcakes

My wife and I stopped by 4/12/25 to try a couple cupcakes. We both were disappointed. The cupcakes were dry and just average at best. I've had better at Walmart. Not worth $5 in my opinion.

Their truck was set up at a fall event I attended. We bought three different cupcakes and didn't finish any of them. They were so bland, and the icing was just a cold hard lump on the top. My lemon cupcake had absolutely no lemon flavor. I felt scammed. The cupcakes were way too expensive to be that small and flavorless. I wish I had taken the half eaten cupcakes back and demanded a refund. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

We picked up 4 cupcakes today from Gigi’s - spent over $20- the cake of each one was dry, cold, dense, and pretty tasteless. The icing tasted like confectioners sugar - it too was dry and dense and overly sweet. Very disappointing given they were $5 a piece.

Similar review to another failed wedding in September. We chose Gigi’s early in our wedding process, paid in full on the day we signed our contract. Had multiple phone calls confirming our order all the way up to the week before our wedding. Our order was supposed to be delivered at 3pm on our wedding day. Our coordinator waited until 3:30/4pm to start calling inquiring about our order. Took several calls and was told the baker quit and they did not have our order. My coordinator asked them to bring something asap- they arrived after 6pm. Gigi’s brought a $12.98 Walmart cake and completely frozen and the wrong flavors of our contracted cupcakes. We spent days after our wedding attempting to get in touch with the (now previous owner) Shane. We finally received a callback and were told we would be fully refunded from him “personally”. After over a month of fighting we received around $200 (half the amount of our order). We are not longer pushing to receive any additional funds because it is not worth the fight. But this review serves as a warning to the community and brides out there. I would NOT RECOMMEND in anyway to use this business.

I went for surprise birthday cupcakes and am so glad I did! The guy who helped me was nice and also threw in two cupcakes after I told him it was my first time there. The cupcakes were 10/10, I’ll definitely be going back :)

Gigi's made such a beautiful & delicious cake for my daughter's 18th Birthday & delivered it straight to her dorm at V-Tech!!! Would highly recommend !

My husband and I placed an order for cupcakes and a 6 inch wedding cake a few months ago for our wedding. When my sister arrived to pick it up, we were advised the baker had quit and our order was not prepared. We were then given FROZEN cupcakes and a cake that wasn’t even close to what we ordered. When we inquired about receiving a refund, the “new owner” refused to refund us and said it wasn’t his responsibility and that he was sorry. We went to the store and confirmed TWO weeks in advance and then went back and confirmed our order again ONE week in advance. If you have placed an order for this company, I would recommend checking on your order. We will not be returning after receiving the terrible customer service from “the owner” after their company failed to deliver a service that we paid for in advance and confirmed multiple times prior to the event.

Gigi's is the best. We recently moved to Salem and I insisted on driving to Christiansburg to get my Gigi's birthday cupcakes. They are the BEST. Worth the drive, worth the calories, worth the cost!! UMMMM!!

My suggestion would be to get your new employees paperwork done on day one. Not 2 weeks later or never. I9s are supposed to be completed their first day of employment. You still owe my child their paychecks. Where are they? It's no wonder your whole staff walked out. Pay my child immediately!

The cherry on top was, of course, getting to indulge in our own delicious creations. A perfect 10/10 experience suitable for a variety of events, Gigi’s Cupcakes left us with fond memories and a newfound appreciation for the art of cupcake decoration.
