I had an amazing experience with Frank at Macado’s! From the moment we arrived, he was friendly and welcoming to my family of three. He was incredibly professional and polite, making the whole meal feel effortless and enjoyable.
At one point, I downed my Coke way too fast, and Frank came over with a pitcher full of Coke, joking, “We ain’t doing this!” — we couldn’t stop laughing. That kind of personality and attentiveness is rare to find in a server.
I left him a hefty tip because he truly earned it. If I’m ever back up this way, I’m definitely coming back to Macado’s just for his service. Never had a waiter with this kind of mentality — Frank, great job

The worst grilled cheese sandwich I have ever eaten. I’m not sure the cook had ever made one before. I didn’t complain cause Maddy was a good waitress and I didn’t want to say anything.

Never even was seated. The restaurant was not busy at all. They were unable to accommodate a party of 5, and because we didn’t want to set at different tables we were asked to wait outside of the restaurant so we didn’t block smaller parties coming in. We left went down the street to another restaurant who had no problems seating us and they were much busier than macadoos.

We stopped into Macado’s for lunch on Christmas Eve, and it was every bit as delightful as I remembered from childhood. There were two of us dining, and from the moment we walked in, the staff set the tone for a great meal—friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
We started with an appetizer of fried pickles with ranch, perfectly crisp and full of flavor. For our main course, we both ordered Reuben sandwiches—one with shredded roast beef and the other with shredded turkey. Both were excellent: hearty, well‑made, and exactly the kind of comfort food you hope for on a holiday afternoon.
What makes Macado’s truly special, though, is the atmosphere. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and the eclectic electric pictures, quirky knick‑knacks, and fun décor covering the walls, floors, and even the ceiling still make the place feel magical. It’s a restaurant where children and adults can both find something to smile about, and after all these years, it still amazes me.
Macado’s delivered great food, warm service, and a nostalgic experience that made our Christmas Eve lunch memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food served with personality and character.

Very good meal here, our service here was outstanding! A group of 5 went in for lunch and everyone enjoyed their food. Wait staff was amazing especially towards my grand-daughter whonwas only 2. Many different choices of sandwiches, I don't remember the name of the one I had but it had corned beef and was excellent. Would definitely stop here again when passing through!
Quick bite, drink, lunch meeting, or a sit down dinner. Bar is usually fun and regulars are here! Ball games are on. Frank is here on Mondays!!

Our food was awful! We had to wait over an hour for it to even be ready, the bacon on the sandwiches was burnt the bread on the sandwiches themselves was also burnt and tasted super old. Not a good experience especially for how much we paid for it!

This was the worst place ever we waited 1 hour on our sweet teas and we ordered four appetizers we had 8 people and it took two and a half hours and our food was raw and didn’t get our food correct this place sucks and I would rather have dumpster food

I have been going to Macado's for at least 30 years. I always order potato skins and I love them. Tonight in Christiansburg though, I had a bad experience. My potato skins had no bacon. It was just cheese and potatoes. My waitress apologized and put in a new order for us. The second order was the messiest looking plate I've ever seen. The potato skins had mountains of bacon under a layer of cold congealed cheese with pieces of shredded cheese that weren't melted. I brought them home hoping I could microwave them so the cheese would melt. Unfortunately, some of the potatoes weren't even cooked all the way through. I am truly disappointed. We did get good service though.
