Mockingbird Cafe & Bakery

I typically love coming to this establishment and studying. Today we came in to get lunch and work on some school work. I asked the worker if there were any nuts in the chicken salad I was ordering and she assured me there wasn’t, that she had made it herself. When I got my order, there were walnuts in it. I had only taken a bite and luckily not anaphylactic, but not thrilled to be sick now. When I informed them, there was no apology and when I asked if I could order something else the response was “if you want”. They were kind enough to compensate the new order, but please be more cautious. I understand my own responsibility having the allergy, but it goes both ways! I wouldn’t have left a review, but after that interaction I’m disappointed.

Mockingbird has always been a pleasure to visit. On this visit I had a cobb salad and a decadent slice of Guinness cake. Holy cow...the cake...the dreamy icing...mmm. (The salad was wonderful!) Cake....mmMockingbird. Get the cake.

Rented this space for my daughters birthday party and had a wonderful experience! Despite having a little scheduling mix up in the beginning, the staff handled it wonderfully- with great poise and professionalism. Love supporting small businesses in my area and this is one not to overlook! Definitely recommend to friends and family and plan to keep in mind for future events. Great job Mockingbird Cafe ?

Every time I've been to the Mockingbird Cafe, the food has been fantastic and the service has been friendly. It's well worth the drive over from Blacksburg for a tasty breakfast or lunch. I've recommended this place to many people over the years.

This is such a great little coffee shop the food is amazing the coffee is delicious and the staff are super friendly. I would encourage you to check this out next time you're in downtown Christiansburg.

Mockingbird is a wonderful gem in the NRV. The pimento cheese biscuit is wonderful! We love the monster cookies and ALL of the gluten free goodies. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, they made my gluten free wedding cake. It was amazing.

From sweet to savory the food is absolutely delicious! The menu is stacked with vegan items and the price point is perfect. We can't wait to return when we happen to be in town again!

Wow. This place is a hidden gem. If you've ever thought about going here just do it. Food was amazing, service was top notch, prices were good and portions were large.

Wow. I am blown away by this little hole in the wall bakery and am disappointed I found it before I move because it is one of the best places in the area. Their egg wrap is a close new favorite of mine running up to my dad's famous wraps. The portion sizes are alot more than I expected. Great vegan and vegetarian options. The service was phenomenal and the wait reasonable. I will definitely be returning with my dog to enjoy their tables outside.

Fabulous food and fair prices for a locally owned business. Run, don't walk here! But it is easy to walk to and the outdoor seating option is a huge plus!

Love this place. Nice little Gem in downtown Christiansburg. Everything is good here, especially the biscuits.

Great service and the coffee is good! The pumpernickel bagel was served hot with cream cheese (which had a citrus taste to it, which was kinda odd but no worries). Also got a ginger cookie which was delectable!

Everything me and my partner got was amazing. The vegan biscuits and gravy was soooo good. And the lemon scones was the best of the best. I love scones and this was the best and bring vegan made it better. We will come back to the amazing establishment.

This place brought me so much joy during the pandemic. My best friend and I used to on walks and get curbside pick up baked goods and breakfast. So many fond memories here.

Just moved back to the area and found out about this delicious bakery. If you’re vegan you have to go here! So many options. The biscuits & gravy are chefs kiss. Wish I would’ve known this gem was here sooner!
