I went to Virginia Tech and have been coming to this starbucks for the past 4 years. This past year (when I actually moved from blacksburg to christiansburg) I would always see Lisa in the drive thru. She is the sweetest woman ever and always had a positive attitude. I would come almost everyday and she had my drink memorized the second I said my name through the speaker (she even noticed when I got a new car) !!!!! She always had kind words to say, great conversations, and always made sure to give my dogs pup cups if she saw them in the back seats!!! I unexpectedly had to move to North Carolina and didn’t get the chance to say goodbye, so Lisa if you’re seeing this - You absolutely made my day and I will miss you!!!! Made my experience so amazing every-time :)

I’m not typically one to leave a review, especially a negative one; however, it is seldom my drink is made correctly at this location. It’s because of convenience locationally that I continue to give it a shot. The I-81 location is my preferred based off of how they make their drinks.

It always has far too much matcha and is often all over the cup and lid. I’m unsure of how they do it in this location, but they consistently add too much matcha powder and it is not mixed properly. I’ve found clumps about the size of a pea or larger. The sweet foam that I add and pumps of syrup are almost undetectable each time I’ve gone no matter what time of day and throughout the week.

The staff are sweet, but because I’m going through the drive thru and have limited time to grab my drink, I am typically unable get it redone!

After today, I think I’m no longer going to this location regardless of convenience.

I order online. I get soy milk but the turkey sage croissant because the cheese and croissants don't seem to upset my lactose intolerance. Anyway, this note was too cute!

The croissant was warmed when I got there and the coffee was delicious 😊

I enjoyed a good coffee and an awesome cheese danish. Nothing better on a rainy day. Thank you for the service

Quiet place all day, people always there but rarely loud and waleays a place to sit with an outlet.

Workers are super kind and fast, grrat place to meet with people, study, or just chill and kill some time.

So finish Christmas shopping and decide to go get a hot chocolate to end the evening. I get it handed to me, and the lid isn't tight and explodes in my car. At this point I am okay, accept things happen. Just want to smoothly correct this and head home.... Now starts 1 star review.... I say my drink exploded. No response. I set my drink on the counter and realize she is struggling with my card, but finally notices my drink and asks what happened while I am covered in hot chocolate. I say again the lid was a little loose and it exploded. Finally get an apology, but then does 0 to help.

I have to then ask for napkins to start cleaning; got enough for my phone and 1 arm, ask for more, which I just never got, and I got the impression, I was the annoyance, when I didn't even get mad.

Now I have a car I need to clean cause it's sticky, I'm still sticky cause it just dried on me. Like if I got a rage to wipe everything down or just more napkins than I knew what to do with... I'd probably been okay with the rest.

Teach me to try a different Starbucks.

This place does not have a single working outlet. I literally tried every one available (there are only five total) so if you're trying to do work and your computer is low on battery, this is not the place for you

I emailed the store manager directly regarding a very poor experience at his store a week ago. I still have not heard back from him. I have attached the email below as my review. TERRIBLE experience.

Good morning,

I am reaching out to you this morning regarding a visit to your Starbucks in Christiansburg. My husband and I stopped in to grab a quick coffee and tea around 8 am on Thursday, 8/22. The drive thru line was wrapped around the building so we decided to order inside. Once inside it took a minute but I was greeted by a happy (if a bit frazzled) employee. I did not catch her name but she took our order and when I placed an order for a muffin she informed me that the ovens were pretty backed up. I asked for it room temp and she happily helped me out.

As I waited for our drinks I did notice there quite a few people waiting in the lobby for their beverages (no problem at all, I understand it was busy). I got the iced tea relatively quickly and continued waiting for my latte. After about 15 minutes I approached the girl working at the bar and asked if she could just confirm she actually had my drink sticker to make it. She looked at me and without ever checking the ipad/tickets she said, "We're about 15 drinks behind. I'll get to it when I get to it." I decided I could not wait that much more time and decided to just return all of our order. Again I had to wait at the register for someone and when Malia asked how she could help I told her I would like to return my full order because I could not wait any longer for my drink and that the wait was crazy. Her response was flippant and rude. She said "Yeah, there's a lot of people in the lobby. We are 15 drinks behind. It is crazy." I then asked her for the district manager's card to which she threw her hands toward the bar and said, "Yeah, it's down there on the bar."

I take a real issue to the way that I was treated at your store. I understand that the batistas were busy, overwhelmed, and stressed due to the sheer business of the place. However, there is no reason for them not to take the time to check where in line my order was (by the time I walked past on my way out the door my latte was being placed on the pick up counter) or to speak to me in such a rude manner. I am very disappointed in the visit to your store and the employees unkind treatment of their customers. Starbucks promotes being kind and that is definitely not the way I felt I was treated at your store.
