We stumbled across this restaurant and are so glad we did. It’s located in an old Victorian style house. The atmosphere was eclectic and the food was melt in your mouth delicious. You need to stumble upon Summit Restaurant and get ready to be glad you did.

In making our reservation we advised that we were celebrating our anniversary. There was no acknowledgment of this at all. I had also asked if the menu was Pre Fixed and was told no it was not. When we arrived we were given a Pre Fixed menu. We were very disappointed in the selections. After being seated our waiter took the menus almost immediately and we really hadn't had time to look at them. There were candles on each table with 3 of the 6 tables lit. We had finished our entrees and were waiting on our desserts when they came around and lit the remaining candles. The room that we were seated in was nice but very crowded. My wife ordered filet mignon, medium rare. She received it and it was way over cooked. It set on mashed potatoes that she said had a vinegar taste. I had ordered the crab cakes. My meal was very tasty. My wife had key lime pie and it also was delicious. I had ordered crem brûlée and it left a strange aftertaste. We were 2 hours away from this restaurant and wanted to celebrate in an upscale restaurant. We were somewhat disappointed and will not return.

We had dinner there last night. Parking was almost non-existant (got the last spot). Others not so lucky. Dinner was extremely slow, waitress rarely came by (apparently she was working a large group next door in another room). We saw several diners come and go while we waited for our food. Food prices didn't match their website menu. Only two of the four meals could be described as very good. One sent back because undercooked and extremely fatty. I had heard good things about this restaurant, but was greatly disappointed.

The food was mediocre and lacked flavor! The people all around us at the other tables made faces and some even gagged at the food. One time the waiter asked the table next to us how the food was and she said “okay” and when the waiter left they all laughed. Another guy sent back his steak and got another one. My partner got the crab cakes and found one hair in it and he tried to trump through it without saying anything. He then found a second hair and we sent it back (which was removed from the bill). The room was small and it was hard to converse and we didn’t want to disturb others. The waitress seemed busy and rarely checked on us. We are supposed to get complimentary bread but it was never brought out. We had to ask another waiter for it as we couldn’t even find our waitress. The waitress also insisted that we had to get both soup and salad with the entree (which cost more than just one or the other) then another waiter came up to the table next to us and said it was optional so we then canceled the salad! Soup (lobster bisque) was INCREDIBLE. The rest of the food was mediocre and nothing special. The wine was good! Wouldn’t return. The atmosphere was kinda sad. Beautiful antique house but boxes and random things everywhere!

WARNING: STAY AWAY!! We were here for New Year’s Eve. My husband made a reservation through open table over 24 hours before our reservation time and received a confirmation email of the booking. When we arrived a few min before the time, we had to wait nearly 20 min to talk to anyone. At which time, they told us they didn’t have our reservation. They made it seem like they were doing us a favor by seating us. And made us wait another 20 minutes while they cleared the table for us. The service was slow because they seemed short staffed. All other patrons looked as cranky as we felt. The food was mediocre at best. It was impressive that they made “real mashed potatoes” taste like it was made of a box of instant potato flakes and their string beans to taste like they were canned. I couldn’t eat their lobster bisque soup and it was served to my husband. He was polite and wanted to wait for me to get food in front of me before he ate the soup. But then we realized that they wouldn’t bring salad until he finished his soup. He said the lobster bisque tasted like a cheese soup. The parking situation was awful. Not enough spots and most people took up more than one spot. There’s no way to fix it because it’s a random house and there are people who live upstairs (we saw kids go up there and the stairs were filled with a family’s personal groceries… all littering the front check-in area). The only reason this place earns 1 star instead of 0 is that their staff was nice and pleasant. They were clearly overworked and understaffed. This is a poor business model. Never going back.

Fine dining prices with truck stop diner quality…We made the unfortunate mistake of coming here for an overpriced New Year’s Eve dinner. From the outside you can see into the back rooms of the house which are filled with random clutter. Despite a reservation it took twenty minutes to be seated, which gave time to appreciate the decorations, family personal belongings, groceries, and boxes in the entryways.Food itself was slow, poorly seasoned, and subpar at best (lobster in the bisque was very questionable). Really tasted canned and pre-made. Additionally despite having a special holiday menu they were out of several items. By the end of dinner we were having a good time just laughing at the whole experience.Overall very underwhelming.

Don’t come here. The worst new years dinner I’ve ever had as a vegetarian, we were a party of five with meat eaters. The worst steak and sides they’ve had as well, not to mention the sides. The vegetarian dish was made of a can of tomato paste put on two pieces of unseasoned mushroom. They were able to accommodate the table and made an on the fly veggie soup but did not save the meal. Despite a reservation they were out of the dessert of choice and made us wait a solid 20 mins before seating us.They had a reduced menu with one vegetarian option which made things way worse. All reviews speaking about the place having other inhabitants and litter are true. There was a stink bug inside on the curtain next to us who wouldn’t leave.

Had the fortunate opportunity to stop by on a winter sojourn from New Orleans to Boston. From entry into the warm surrounds and seating into a cozy period room, we had a restful evening. Matt, our server, went out of his way to ensure our questions of dinner options were answered. We were started with wonderful buns ( to die for if you're a bread person), before a tasty salad and soup. Our entrees of salmon, scallops and pasta, filet mignon, were excellently prepared and made for a soothing end of a day on the road. (Can't forget the limoncello cake!) Well done and well appreciated. Hope to be back!

Service was extremely slow. We waiting a long time between courses and for the check. We assume they were lacking enough servers, but other tables seem to get faster service. I love the Summit and will assume these problems were due to the New Years Eve rush.

Awesome restaurant in cburg. If it had liquor it would really be the best. Held my company Xmas party there and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Had reservations here for a December graduation dinner that were made WELL in advance. Arrived slightly early to be seated and were told that they just needed to move tables together. We were a party of 7. Half an hour later they asked if we would like to sit outside. (In December - mid-40s outside and only one heater for the entire open wraparound porch dining area). Fifteen minutes after that we were told that they had given away our table and it might be another 15-20 minutes. The entire time the staff was avoiding us - not even making eye contact. Finally, after wasting an hour of a celebration evening, we left and ate at the Farmhouse, which was exceptional.Don’t waste your time here.

This was our first experience at the Summitt. It did not start off well when we arrived, they seemed flustered of our reservation; They were not prepared nor had us down. I told them I made online. Which I told is not the thing to do. We were able to get a table. The service was excellent the whole time. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon, and I had the Pasta with shrimp and scallops. I enjoyed my meal, but the steak was too salty over seasoned and tough. My husband did not complain or ask to take back. Unfortunately, he did not enjoy and actual felt nausea the rest of the night. I am sure there are some nights that things do not go as planned when cooking. I think we may give it another try but it will be very long coming before we do.
