Went for brunch on a Saturday and was surprised that it was so dark and cavernous inside. We were seated in a booth in a long hallway, which was strange since the restaurant wasn't otherwise very busy. The service was great. The food was pretty mediocre. We both had steak and eggs, mine with the prime rib. The scrambled eggs were runny and flavorless. The “hashbrowns” were cubed fried potatoes, and good enough. The biscuit did not taste fresh - it was pretty stale - and was a little sweet which is not to my liking. The prime rib was perfect, though.
Food was very good. Server didn't ask to refill our drinks, not once. Just walked right past us.
Amazing as always. Rainbow trout was delicious..ribeye was so tender even cooked well done
We were relieved and delighted to find this great restaurant in the Blacksburg area. Too many other average restaurants. This one stood out! We were on the patio. Great atmosphere. Service was excellent (thank you Michelle) and food was fabulous. Especially the seafood. And the wine too! We'll be back.
Food was delicious; portions were generous; and service (Bailee) was outstanding. 8 of us in an enclosed booth was perfect as we had an older member of our party with hearing aids and there was no ambient noise. He was quite pleased to be able to hear everything! Everyone enjoyed their meals. We had a great time. Next time we're in Blacksburg we'll be back!
The atmosphere is so unique, including private dining spaces, antique artwork and a beautiful barn style. There are more open, casual spaces for diners who want more of an energetic gathering space. There are service was efficient. warm and inviting, and the food was tasty.
Came here with my parents who were visiting after hearing good things about here. We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated quite quickly. The table we were sitting at was very private and definitely did have that farm house vibe. The food was really good! I ordered the rainbow trout and my parents got the herb chicken and crab cakes. The rainbow trout was really well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and a good portion. The crab cakes and herb chicken were also great.
I normally don't like baked potatoes because they're super bland, but the ones that they do here are delicious!
I would definitely come back again. It's definitely for a birthday/anniversary or some other special occasion, but you get what you pay for.

My wife and I were dining here as part of our visit for our anniversary and literally got forgotten while we were there for supper. Food was overpriced for no reason. I've gotten a better steak from Outback. They ran out of prime rib on a Saturday before 630. Caesar salad was tasteless. Only good thing about this visit was the atmosphere, onion rings and asparagus.

40 years after Hokie graduation, the Farmhouse was still there, and still just as fabulous as when I left. The memories of Mom and Dad taking me out to dinner after a football game were hanging in the air as we sat down on the porch. This time I was not sore from being pummeled as a center for my beloved Hokies. The food was fabulous, the company of fellow aging grads was endearing, and I've never said this about service before, but not only was it efficient and friendly, but comforting as well, knowing that the memories I cherish were in capable hands.
Parking: Right out front within steps of front door.
