Good country food with great prices for the amount you get. Owner has a great dry sense of humor that some appear to interpret incorrectly based on other reviews, but my family enjoyed her conversation as well as her food. It is a small restaurant with a small kitchen and staff, so don't come here for a quick bite. It isn't McDonald's and doesn't try to be. The day we were there, she was working by herself, waiting tables and cooking. The owner is up front that there will be a wait, but keeps you supplied with coffee and up to date on progress.

The only reason I'm not rating it a 5, is because it's a diner and not a 5 star meal location. Know what you're getting into and you'll be very happy. With very few breakfast options in the area, they could make this a "churn and burn" type of place, but they haven't. They have stayed true to their roots and that's exactly what I love about it. I visit the area a few times a year and I always stop in.I've only been for breakfast and it's a solid meal for a great price. This is the place you go early in the morning to hear the locals talk about the fishing report. It's where you hear about the community events. It's where you ask about who has the best what at local farm stands. You come here to have 2-3 cups of coffee, eat, read the paper (or your Kindle in my case), eat, and leave. But you leave happy and feeling like you've been given the privilege of being a member of the town, even if it was just for an hour. It's a small place with just a handful of tables. If you're coming with a party of 12 on a Saturday morning with lots of different dietary restrictions, this might not be what you're looking for. Party of 1-4 on an early weekday morning in the off season, this is the spot. The building could use some love and attention, but that's part of the charm. Remember, this is a place for the town to call home, not just the visitors (and I say this as a visitor). The crew could come across as "gruff" to some, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. Maybe it was because I read the reviews and knew what to expect ahead of time. Be ready to wait for your food because they don't batch it ahead of time and relax; you're on Lake Time. The coffee is hot, they make perfect eggs over easy, home fries, and warm biscuits... what more could you want!

Firstly, this is a small, mom & pop diner, so don't expect fine dining. That said, it lived up 100% to what it is. I do see why some rated the place poorly based on the waitress. She is an off the cuff, what you see is what you get personality. At her core, she's a sweet person, you just can't expect her to be bubbly. Personally, I found her part of the experience. The food is exactly how it bills itself and does the job for a reasonable cost. I plan to be back to try the breakfast and the desserts.

This is the best place to have a home cooked meal in the area period if you ask me. They take such good care of our tournament staff each time we visit. And if you are looking for a catered meal ready to pick up and go, look no further , these folks have the answers for you and the response can only be one thing Mmmm Mmmm GOOOOD!!!

Ate here one time and just got a weird vibe. Food was ok nothing great definitely not like grandma used to make. All the meat items were almost cut in half while cooking. I understand that's the cook's way of making sure it's done, but if I wanted my food cut up for me I'll just let my wife do it at home. Also, it let's the juices out the meat and made it all dried out and over cooked. I can cook eggs and sausage think I'll just do it myself at home cheaper

Good home-cooked food.If you are in a rush don't stop. But if you have the time it is well worth it.
