I was choosing between a few thai options in the area and I am glad I decided this one! I really enjoyed my pad thai and thai ice tea. I ordered online and the process was a breeze. Thai tea was made when I arrived so it didn't get watery. Pad thai had great flavor, good spice and big chicken pieces. The inside of the restaurant is very small, just a warning for bigger groups. For a tuesday night, it was pretty busy inside. I would definitely go back!

The duck dish is delicious. We ordered a couple of appetizers and loved everything. The mango sticky rice rocks! It's a small cozy place with awesome service.

This is my first time writing a review. We've gone to Sakoonthai for many years and have enjoyed their food. However, I feel compelled to write this review as after several years of hoping things will get better but it's only gotten worse in terms of the quality of their food and portion sizes and considering how expensive each entree is. I realize that restaurants are under pressure with inflation, but the Chicken Satay is a joke. They look like half-eaten pieces of meat stuck on a stick that is extremely dry, and I've ordered multiple times now with the hope that it's better. To me, it feels like whoever is making the food could care less about the quality. We ordered another chicken dish recently, hoping it might be better, but it was dry and bland. The papaya salad greens were not cleaned well, and neither was the shrimp. It's a real shame that the restaurant has deteriorated like this. I hope they can pull things together and get back to making quality food.

We decided to give this place one more try and it was another disappointment. Saturday 8:52pm they said actually their kitchen closes at 9. I pointed out that it's not even 9 and that they advertise open houses til 9:30 but I was met with blank stair. We just left. There is a nice Italian place 5min away where they met us with smiles and left us with pleasant feeling and full stomach. Never going to give SUCKoonthai another try. Service and being pleasant is one of the ingredients of successful restaurant. If it's missing even if you paint your name on plates in gold it won't be good.

We don't have a favorite Thai restaurant because they are usually overly sweet n salty. This place is more subtle with the seasoning and it's a welcome difference.

So much to love here- crab fried rice and shrimp fried rice are my favorites! The pad Thai is also good- lots of vegetables with a choice of proteins and the yummy red tofu bits. We are fortunate to live within the delivery range and our order is always correct.

Me and my bf went to eat here and the food and service was very good. The ambiance in the restaurant is welcoming and very up to date. The food came out quickly and was freshly made. There were also plenty of vegan options on the menu. We will be returning again.

POULTRY-SKIN OR WITHOUT ANY SKIN--What a Topic!!! With references to my comments whether to serve the roast duck with or without skin, i.e., my reviews on December 29th last year, I indeed appreciate one good and genteel- looking lady at that restaurant coming to talk to me at my table during our last visit Am not sure if she is the new owner or not. but if she grew up in Thailand, she knows what IS the fact. Perhaps while she was away from her own kitchen, some workers there pinched and ate the poultry skin off the cooked ducks inside the kitchen among themselves!!! I will never believe that her people inside the kitchen just peeled them off and then THREW them AWAY!!--not in the million years. Here in the United States, the beautiful roast turkey has always been served with the skin on. We all love either the crispy skin part as much as the chewy skin, albeit very tasty! I was fortunate to attend one top university in Cambridge, the ladies in the kitchen of our university --served roast turkeys with their skin on always.] Historywise, even the Siamese King Rama the Fifth mentioned several Thai dishes in one of his composed prose. So did King Narai of the Ayuthaya time ***True Thai people are proud of their cooking legend--Sunthorn Phue even said a few lines about foods during the Ayuthaya period. ***[True 100% Thai as opposed to mixed with others such as Chinese, Cambodian, or Laotian Perhaps, I just did not appreciate the impertinent attitude of our server that talked negatively as such this evening either!!] Yes, I still maintain that famous places both in Thailand and here in the USA have their own tradition of keeping the entire skin on their roasted/cooked poultry. We lived a few years in Illinois--about one hour away from Chicago and I could say with 100% confidence that all the roast ducks in Chicago always came with their complete skin attached on the poultry. Why? Poultry skins are the most flavourful part!! ;Kids love to try to get a tiny piece of skin of roast ducks from the kitchen or the dining table. Still, I appreciated that Thai lady, the owner---- one hundred per cent or not, just her coming to talk to me--

Located in the Colonnade at Union Mill, Sakoonthai in Clifton is a small, cozy spot with a neat touch of wine bottle decor. I tried their Duck Curry and Pad Thai, both decent choices. The curry had a nice mix of flavors and the Pad Thai was pretty tasty. The Papaya Salad stood out with its sweet and spicy taste, plus a good hit of lime. It was a refreshing part of the meal, and probably one of my favorite side dishes. Service was fine - attentive and friendly. The place has a relaxed vibe, which is nice. Also had the Yum Watercress, an interesting dish, and they also offer a variety of curries, Tom Yum soups, Thai tea, fried rice, and more. Overall, Sakoonthai is a solid choice for Thai food in Clifton. It's a good spot for a casual meal. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

The service here was great and the food was delicious! The food was flavorful and the pad thai was great and saucy. The portions were quite large so me and my friend were able to split a dish. The restaurant itself is also beautifully decorated inside which made for a nice meal.
