I loved the non-alcoholic mocktail with sparkling wine and freshly pressed grape syrup. The shrimp and hominy grits were delicious. Also the chocolate mousse and cherry pot for dessert. Husband found the egg, bacon and sausage breakfast a bit uninspiring and we both didn't enjoy the coffee as it was quite bitter. Service was excellent and loved the relaxing ambiance. We'll be back to try other Sunday brunch items!
Disappointed with a very fatty short rib entree and my martini was not correctly prepared.
The food is excellent and delicious. The location and ambience is very nice but the music was a little loud. The problem was the service. We sat down at 6:30 and were one of the first tables seated in the dining room. We got some wine and ordered appetizers and bread right away. The bread came pretty fast but and we placed our dinner order probably around 7:15. We waited and didn't get our appetizers until we flagged down a manager and asked about it. We got them at about 7:55 and the manager said he would not charge us for them. We didn't get our entrees until about 8:20 and we never ordered dessert or coffee because our waiter never came by. We finally were able to ask for the check close to 9:00 and still didn't get the check and get out of there until 9:20. The place was nearly empty. I'm not sure why we were so sorely neglected but it was really frustrating.
Absolutely fantastic service. We went on a Friday so the prime rib was on the menu and it was perfectly cooked as were the fingerling potatoes. The pleasure & pain cocktail is a must try. Every sip of the drink was a little different, and it was just pretty.
Trummerfest celebration was fun, with a traditional band, food, beverages and ambience made it very enjoyable. Truly family friendly Oktoberfest celebration. Looking forward to next year's event.
Our daughter loves Trummers and we take her there for her birthday every year. She really loves their prime rib and it was on the menu Friday and Saturday night. Last year, they knew it was her birthday and gave her a special piece of cake on a nicely decorated plate. This year, the food was very good and our waitress was excellent. Not good = we had a reservation for 8pm. Their poicy is only to hold it for 15 minutes. We rushed to get there at 8pm and were right on time. We stood by the bar waiting 25 minutes to be seated. When seated, we saw multiple open tables. My daughter and sister ordered the prime rib. All seemed fine. Waitress came back and said they ran out of 16 oz but had one 10 oz. My sister deferred and my daughter went with the 10 oz. We ordered dinner rolls. They brought a plate with 4 rolls for the 5 of us. We asked meekly, could we get one more roll? They were aware it was my daughter's birthday and brought her a muffin with a candle stuck in it. It also just seemed like there was a vibe where the management didn't care about the quality of the experience for the customers. We still tipped 25% for our server who was trying. Cost was very high for a restaurant that doesn't seem to be trying too hard.
Excellent food at a great price. Bar area can be a bit noisy but the dining areas are roomy and comfortable. This is our go-to restaurant to impress out of town guests.
Once again, an exceptional dinner at Trummer's. Each dish was plated beautifully and was delicious. My husband has the Butcher Salad which he declared extraordinary. I decided on the shrimp & grits appetizer for a main course with an unusual and outstanding spinach salad with fingerling potatoes. The grits were purple grits, unusual but tasty! The Shrimp were perfectly done. Another at our table had the prime rib (always perfectly done) and another shrimp & grits with BLT salad. All were in agreement the dinner was wonderful. The noise levels became a bit much when the first floor dining room was nearly at capacity. A delightful evening, as always.
We enjoyed a quiet brunch on the terrasse on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered the famous schnitzel and shrimp and grits - both generous portions, wonderfully plated and delicious! Appreciated the fingerling potatoes fried in duck fat (so decadent!) and the butterfly pea flour in the grits that gave them a wonderful purple hue! Our amazing server was Amanda J who was knowledgeable, professional and delightfully fun! We will be back soon!
We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary at Trummer's, and it was nothing short of perfect! From the moment we walked in, the warm and elegant ambiance set the tone for a truly special evening. Our waitress, Ana, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so celebrated. Michael was also fantastic and added to the exceptional service we received throughout the night. The food was outstanding—beautifully prepared, flavorful, and every dish felt thoughtfully crafted. The entire staff went above and beyond, creating an atmosphere that was both refined and welcoming. We couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. Thank you, Trummer's, for making our anniversary so memorable. We can't wait to dine here again!

Lovely upscale luncheon location, peaceful environment, historical environment, great food, stellar service, professional hospitality reasonable prices. I'll definitely return soon.
Clifton is an amazing little village. Trummers never disappoints. We had to wait a few minutes to get served, which was unusual, but not more of a wait than you would expect from most restaurants. To make up for it, we received complimentary champagne, appetizer, and dessert, as well as a personal apology from the manager and the owner. First class all the way. Amazing food. Remarkable people. A different menu of rare dishes every time we show up.
Nice atmosphere, average food. Really good Bloody Mary!
I like Trummer’s. It’s a beautiful restaurant with nice tall ceilings and lots of natural light. The food on the other hand is a mostly subpar. Inconsistencies with what is listed on the menu and what you receive.
Avocado Toast: Average. Also it was served with salmon instead of the white fish that was listed on the menu.
Smash Burger: Fine, nothing special. Served with no veggies inside, literally just meat cheese and some caramelized onions. Where’s the crunchy lettuce and fresh tomato?
Wienerschnitzel from Pork: Way too salty. The gravy had an odd smoky taste. The roisserie potatoes were good.
Trummer’s Breakfast: Not worth $22 for what you get. Over salted. Sausage is listed on the menu but received no sausage. Restaurant does not have egg whites.
*Note to Owners* Bring back the Jerusalem artichoke soup it was the best thing on the menu.

Meh. I had the pork loin, it was dry and not well seasoned. The hop John was also lacking any flavor. My wife had the chicken, it was fine - at least it had some flavor but the sides were bland. The server was cold and I had to ask for everything (refills, check, for her to take the check). Hour and a half for a two person dinner in the bar area.

Trummer's is so cozy. Been for lunches and really excellent. Restaurant week dinner was really different. My husband doesn't care for "fancy" food so he ordered prime rib from the regular menu. He said it was delicious! We shared my dessert and enjoyed our wine. Our server, justin, was very friendly and personable and we enjoyed chatting with him. Looking forward to another meal soon!
