Sunflower Café is a hidden gem in Colonial Beach! The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with charming decor that makes you feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast or a relaxed lunch, this spot is well worth a visit!

I’ve always enjoyed the food here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We arrived nearly an hour before closing and were greeted by a server who opened the door without a word, with a negative attitude, let us in, and allowed us to seat ourselves. At no point did anyone mention that the kitchen was closed. A few minutes later, another staff member came over and bluntly told us the kitchen was already shut down—no apology, no explanation, just a dismissive tone and a clear attitude that we were an inconvenience. No compassion, no apology—just a flat “our kitchen is closed” and an expectation that we get up and leave. I fully understand being busy or short-staffed, especially on a holiday, but that doesn’t excuse poor communication and unprofessional treatment of paying customers. It takes very little to be kind and clear. Sadly, despite the great food, the customer service here continues to miss the mark—and that’s ultimately what drives people away.

Amazing food

This is one of the best restaurants in the region with a couple of talented chefs. The red curry, Thai tea, and shushi are all next level! You may need reservations on the weekend.

This place is awesome!! The food is absolutely delicious. It has a small hometown feeling. Everyone was so nice. You need to go. We drove an hour, and it was so worth it.

Had the BEST sushi I’ve ever had last night! Also have had the Panang Curry in the past and it was 10/10. Definitely my go to for delicious food and friendly staff!

If you are hungry..... don't eat here! The potions are very small. i ordered drunken noodles. They gave me about 6 noodles. Underneath my noodles they put garnish. I think it was lettuce. they game me more garnish then anything. My daughter didn't like the taste of her food, My daughter said she likes Orchid Thai Cuisine better. I didn't have a problem with the taste. Just the portion size. I might try them one more time to see if it gets better.

This is my favorite restaurant in Colonial Beach! Everything on the menu is delicious. We love the staff. Yes, the sushi is fabulous...and beautiful!
