The food was good, the staff, friendly. We were giving sushi menus and then told after ordering that they couldn't make sushi because they only have 1 sushi chef. The restaurant itself is nothing to look at, it's like grandma's house if your grandmother collects tacky trinkets. The food is authentic so don't let the appearance deter you. Don't order the wine. The beef pho was 10 stars so I'll be back just for that. Hope that helps!

Dated, feels like a takeout place. While atmosphere wasn't spectacular, the food was good. Understaffed, the service was still pretty good.

I am a fan of the 5 star review and err on the side of generosity when reviewing. The truth of the matter is that if everyone is a 5, then really, no one is a 5, plus the whole point of sharing your review is to share your honest review. The other thing is, I never leave a less than stellar review after just one visit because any number of things could have caused a temporary shift in food preparation or service. I bumbling around because I'm reluctant to say: This place offers a very unpredictable food experience, which is more likely to tip to the negative than to the positive. One time, well done and nice portions. One time, well prepared but entree portions so comically tiny, it could have been an appetizer. One time, the food so incredibly salty - despite being highly motivtaed by both hunger and and an aversion to cooking our own dinner that night, we had to toss it in the trash. Another time, strangely, cabbage used where bean sprouts are needed, and even that would have been ok except several pieces of the cabbage were moldy. The 2 star rating in YELP translates to "Could've been better." And it definately could have. Hoping this little place can get its act together, because we sure do love Thai food and would like to see this business do well.

Service was eh. Took way too long to receive our food even though it was off hours and there weren’t that many people. And when the food finally came, it wasn’t impressive. Curry was watered down and not much flavor. And chicken meat was rubbery.

The Shrimp Tempura and the chicken teriyaki were both FANTASTIC! Very friendly staff. Thanks so much!

If you look at my reviews, I mostly give 5 stars. I appreciate how hard it is to run a business and I understand how negative reviews can hurt, so I’m careful to err on the side of, well… maybe it’s an off night, maybe short-staffed…I have to have at least 3 negative experiences somewhere before I say something. This food at this place is absolutely AWFUL. One night so salty, it was inedible, had to throw in the trash. Second time, Pad Thai with cabbage added instead of bean sprouts. Okaaay, that’s fine, I guess, but the cabbage was moldy so, had to throw in the trash. One night food was okay, but portions so comically small, it was like a tiny tapas sized appetizer. In other words, things at Suki are incredibly inconsistent and unpredictable. Likely, you’re gonna be surprised in a bad way.Two stars ONLY BECAUSE the owner is very sweet and working very hard, I’m sure. But 3 horrible meals in a row, over the last few months, says this is not a fluke or a one-time bad night. And hey, it ain’t cheap! $30 for spring rolls and a pad Thai? So at least use fresh, not moldy, cabbage. Better yet, use fresh bean sprouts.Whatever it is, Suki The Cuisine, get it together. If you do, I will delete this review, because truly we all wish you the best and selfishly, just want to be able to have a delicious dinner cooked by someone else. ?

We heard great things and were excited to get dinner from here, but had a really disappointing experience. Really bummed because we thought this was going to be one of our favorite spots based on what we were told. ? Menus online aren’t updated and the ones in the restaurant differ from menu to menu price wise — which wouldn’t have been an issue if the food was amazing. I would pay whatever for really good food. We came from CA, the land of being overcharged, and we’ve never paid $7 per thai iced tea. It was nearly $80 for two people to eat, small servings, and left a lot to be desired.

I don't usually get a chance to explore my hometown, so I thought on my off day I'd spend the day at Colonial and have dinner at Suki the Cuisine and get some Thai food. I decided to sit outside since I had my dog with me. The decorations/ambiance is nothing to write home about, but there was ample seating and the vibe was still very homey. The restaurant was pretty busy and the hostess was a bit frazzled, but she was still able to come outside and take my order. She was very friendly. The young gentleman - Jonathan - who served me was fantastic! He was so friendly and attentive: he got a bowl of water for my dog, made sure my Thai tea was to my satisfaction and even offered to charge my phone when it died (which is why I don't have photos for you all like usual ). He checked in regularly to see how I was enjoying my food and we even had a nice chat at the end about traveling. I highly recommend coming here if you enjoy good service. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because of the food itself. I ordered a Thai tea, seaweed salad and the Thai fried rice with shrimp. The seaweed salad was a bit too oily for my liking, and I would've liked more sesame to give it more of a toasty flavor. The Thai fried rice lacked the amount of spice that I'm used to at Thai restaurants, and the dish only came with 3 pieces of shrimp. For 16.59 I wanted to have a little more shrimp throughout my meal. I explained this to Jonathan and he gladly welcomed the constructive criticism and even offered up suggestions as to how they can do better in the future. All in all I had a great time at Suki's I would just come back and try something different. Hope this helps!

I first heard about this place from a foodie friend who loved finding hidden gems. What a treat this place was! The staff were so nice and the food was delicious. During the summer they do karaoke outside which was such a good time. highly recommend this place!!!

Amazing!! Don't let the outside fool you, food is authentic Thai, and is worth the visit next time you are 8n Colonial Beach, va. We'll be back!!

Food was great! Even though there was a bit of a wait for the food, it was well worth it. The Thai fried rice and the drunken noodles are the best I've had. Pad thai was a little too sweet, but overall the food here is great!

Bless the man here, when we visited he was doing every single role - server, chef, answering phones. He was handling for tables well, and our food was delicious and he even gave us extra appetizers. We appreciate the kindness!
