I’m honestly disappointed to be writing this, but this is the second time we’ve experienced something similar here.
We are not locals, and we don’t look like most of the other customers. We ordered our food first, long before the guests seated beside us. We then waited almost an hour while those who arrived after us were served before us - including the same soup we ordered.
When the first soup finally arrived, I politely confirmed that we ordered three. The staff responded that there was only one cook working, so we continued to wait. While waiting, we noticed the same soup being served to the table who came after us.
Later, they served the other food we ordered and I asked again about our missing soups, we were told like “I thought you only have one soup”. Eventually, the remaining two soups arrived, but the experience left us feeling overlooked and uncomfortable.
We still chose to be respectful, but we hope the restaurant improves communication, fairness, and order prioritization. Every customer deserves to feel acknowledged and treated with equal consideration.

I wish I could give a rating in-between 3 and 4 stars. Food was definitely better than your average restaurant, but not as good as it was hyped up to be. Sushi was clearly very fresh, possibly the most fresh sushi I have ever had, but it was not super flavorful. My wife's kani salad was fantastic, but extremely expensive considering the small portion size. The pride flag outside was a bit much for my tastes, I prefer places of business to stay out of politics. Service was pleasant but a bit slow, and they never brought my wife's drink after sitting there well over an hour. Prices were very high for the area, two people eating an appetizer, main courses, no alcohol, and two deserts came out to $130. Portion sizes were below average, not so small that it was offensive, but definitely not a good value considering the prices. If this has been an $80 meal for two it would be a 5 star restaurant, unfortunately it was a $130 meal for two, which to me raises the bar of what is to be expected. it was good but not somewhere I plan to frequent.

By far one of the best restaurants in Colonial Beach. The quality of the food has been consistently exceptional every time! The food is plated beautifully and it is sooo good. The filet mignon is not only very good, but reasonably priced for the quality. It's kinda an odd combination (French, Thai, and Sushi) but it works, and we have loved every bit of food that has come out of that kitchen.

I vacationed recently in CB. I had been really excited to try Sunflower and so I went on an evening around 5-6pm. It seemed relatively busy inside with a few tables outside. When I walked in there was no hostess stand or anyone to greet me. It felt quite awkward while I stood waiting to be acknowledged. Finally a server asked me if I had a reservation. It was more a demand or a judgement than a question and I apologized and said I did not. I wasn’t even aware reservations were necessary despite doing research on the restaurant. She seated me begrudgingly anyway, which I was thankful for. As I waited and ate, many more people tentatively came through the door and their only greeting was an accusation of “Do you have a reservation?” Only one did, the rest were seated or turned away but not warmly or with any apology. There were 4 servers on and eventually the restaurant truly emptied out and still people were questioned or turned away. I have to say the food was VERY good. The service I had once seated went between pleasant to absolutely neglectful. I order desert and it was 20 minutes before it came out to me and then I asked for my check at the end of the meal and waited over 40 minutes while my server worked around me. I had my to go container and credit card on the table the entire time and even asked for my check multiple times. I never got one and finally had to leave leaving cash on the table and no tip cause it’s all I had and I had to go to make it to a prior engagement. I was a server for years and can’t remember if I’ve ever left without tipping but this was something I couldn’t excuse. Overall, it was sad that such quality food was overshadowed by poor service and attitude in the front of the house. :(
Delicious!

First time visiting Colonial Beach, I stumbled upon this Thai restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious, and the Thai tea was also very good. The Red Curry was delicious, but a little too small, which was the only thing I was not satisfied with.

Great staff, better food! Started off with sautéed scallops with spinach, and saffron sauce and sautéed mussels with a different but equally yummy sauce and bread bowl! We each chose from the Special’s Menu Board - soft shell crab and rock fish, both with a hearty roasted vegetable medley.
They bought out a cool bowl of water for our dog-daughter Cookie and we had a great time listening to the DJ playing lively blues tunes. Was a pleasant evening. The wait staff suggested we stop by Pink Poodle to try the Turtle Pecan ice cream before it runs out. Would definitely visit again!!!!!

The food is succulent. Every dish is perfectly prepared with care. Absolutely the most outstanding restaurant in Colonial Beach. The staff takes care of your meal without interruption. I love that. The recipes are not compromised with changes. If you want speciality made food, such as vegan or gluten free. find another place. Good eating
