Nice little dog friendly brewery in downtown Culpepper. The beers were solid. My favorite was the Ernst, a German pilsner. I had the five beer flight that included a Marzen, a Kolsch, a New England IPA, the Pilsner, and a dark lager. Definitely a nice range of styles.
The kitchen is pretty small, so food can be a little slow when the place is packed. Overall, definitely a nice brewery to visit. Culpepper is a nice little town and there is plenty of parking nearby.
Dog friendly inside is an automatic 5 stars. I like the hours since so many places close for a few hours everyday. This place is OPEN!!!!
Nice brewery. Good beers.
The room and the concept and jinx (featured in the photo with me) and her owner get this place five stars.
But in my opinion, the pizza is one or two stars. I got the barbecue chicken pizza and could barely finish it… That nasty, white rubber chicken and that weird bacon That taste more like ham and that sugary sweet barbecue sauce on an awkward crust was almost inedible for me.
I would love it if they were able to provide some food with a little bit better ingredients and flavors. Other than the food, this place was great! Lol
Amazing place great beer and dog friendly!
What a great spot! Service was super friendly, delicious Alpine IPA, and the reuben sandwich was yummy! Roast beef Sammy was also excellent! Would definitely recommend!!!! Great atmosphere!
Excellent beers, friendly folks. Didn't try the food, but it sure smelled great.
If you're the type who thinks a pint is best enjoyed with a pup nearby, Beer Hound Brewery in Culpeper, Virginia, might just be your new favorite spot. This dog-themed brewery leans all-in on the canine love, from the playful beer names to the tail-wagging guests lounging around.
Inside, the atmosphere is sports bar with dogs. Families with little ones will be happy to know the taproom is baby-friendly at least during the lunch hours. In the back, there's a dartboard setup if you're feeling competitive, while the front porch offers a casual spot for smokers to hang out without disturbing the main space.
Beer Hound keeps things simple and satisfying on the food front, offering a kitchen menu full of pizzas and handhelds, the perfect pairing for a flight (or two). Speaking of flights, they offer generous options: pick 5 or go big with 9 — a fantastic way to sample their full range of dog-inspired brews.
All of their beers stick to the doggy theme, and one that really stood out was Seneca Blue, a Philly sour bursting with bright blueberry flavor. It's tart, fruity, and totally crushable. Plus, Beer Hound still bottles their beers — a charming old-school touch that we appreciate in an era of endless cans.
Overall, Beer Hound Brewery is laid-back, friendly, and full of character — human and canine alike. Worth the stop if you love pups, pints, and places where you’re made to feel right at home.
Food is so good and the owner is very nice and friendly! We brought our pup on the patio and had a great time.
The Beer Hound is our favorite brewery. In an area that is saturated with breweries and winery’s the beer hound stands out with great brews, yummy food, awesome people, and all dogs welcome. What more could you want!!!

Bear and Blue Trivia, always a great time.
Great beer and friendly staff!
Good beer and good food. Visited on a Saturday so they didn't have pitchers of beer it was only by the glass. The menus were over the bar. You order at the bar and take a seat. They have hightop seating, booths and tables outside. The have darts in the back. Dogs are welcome. Owners are very nice.
Really good beers!!! We recommend the Rye IPA and the stout. Both were excellent. We sat outside which was pleasant. Would definitely return
Very friendly people. Far Better quality beer than the other downtown breweries. Northern VA high quality that we weren’t expecting to find in culpeper. These beers have body and flavor. Fast service and a clean establishment compared to other breweries in town. Visiting Beer Hound gives one a reason to go to culpeper.
