I've lived in the area for 20 years, been to Culpepper numerous times and never even noticed this place. And to be fair it doesn't look like much from the outside. But the surprise is inside. As the name would suggest, this is a cute little country diner/cafe. The ambiance of the place takes me back to my childhood growing up in a small counyry town. There's an open simplicity here that is absolutely appealing. This is the type of place where most of the patrons know each other and know the staff. According to the locals "It's been here forever".The food is not spectacular but it is good; the prices are excellent. They serve 2 eggs, toast and hash browns for $6.99.... a 3 egg omelet with toast and choice of bacon ham or sausage for $9.99, And - wait for it - 2 eggs with toast, potatoes and a 4oz ribeye for $12.99 (!). In each case, coffee is included.Perhaps the most noteworthy stamp of approval on Country Cafe is the number of law enforcement folks that day here. When I entered, no less than 3 of the tables were occupied by local sherriff's deputies and state troopers. The fact that these guys know every restaurant in the area, and chose to come here is quite a statement.I will be visiting this place the next time I'm in town....You should too.Parking: About 20 parking spots both in front and beside the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: This place is definitely family friendly. There was a large family including children there when I left.

me and my husband ate here for breakfast since I had heard so much about this place, very friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast menu didn’t have tons of options but the food was immaculate. So delicious and flavorful a nice good ole country breakfast!! My husband loved it and that says a lot since he’s a very picky eater! Good small southern diner!Parking: Where the cafe is placed is a little awkward as it’s on a hill that doesn’t really have a parking lot but there is a gas station across the street that you can park at and walk across

I was told to try this cute little hike in the wall. I was not disappointed. I ordered the 2 eggs, fried oysters, potatoes, and toast! Everything was delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection. Very crispy. The potatoes added the perfect balance to the slightly salty oysters. The food was hot and fresh! Our waitress was amazing. She brought everything out with a smile. Overall, I would highly recommend!

The perfect country dinner! I ate most of everything off the menu! The breakfast bowl is my favorite. I have been going there for a while and the reason I decided to write this review now is because I was impressed with the healthy choice I was able to make. The veggie omelette, no cheese, no tomatoes, was delicious I didn't feel like I was missing anything. They will customize dishes for you! ❤️

I came to a nearby Inn for my birthday dinner last year, and I stayed in a quaint little Bnb in nearby Culpepper. The next day, I started my long journey back home, and it included a stop downtown for a nice breakfast. There were a few options, but overall, the Country Café looked like our best bet. So we parked in the very rustic and fun parking lot, and headed on in.Stepping into this place, there was an instant vibe of everyone in the room being regulars and had been going there for many years. There were pictures of people and newspaper clippings and all sorts of small town stuff all over the wall that I loved. It made me real homesick for my small hometown. So even though we were outsiders, I felt right at home, and our super friendly server helped us with amazing service was start to finish.Looking at the menu, it was small and simple, my favorite. Do a few things perfectly rather than many things poorly. Browsing the menu, I only ever had the one option, the Country Boy Breakfast (The way grandma fixed it! 3 eggs any style served with 2 bacon and 2 sausage, fried potatoes with gravy on top and a biscuit).Usually, normal breakfast items don't fill me up, but boy howdy this one did. Well-scrambled eggs, skin-on potatoes, a well-peppered gravy, and sausage And bacon. So good. I enjoyed this a lot.I also got to sample some sort of apple cobbler French toast. It's not on their regular menu, it was a special they had going, and it was also good! This was quantity and quality! I love the skinny toast French toast, because it's soaked and cooked all the way through. And they certainly gave us enough apples on top. A good breakfast dish.Overall, I am a huge fan of this place. I don't know if I will ever come back, but I can guarantee, if I ever Am near Culpepper again in the AM, I will be making a special effort to return.

Place is nice and cozy, the service was okay lady we had seemed new so didn't get our order as we asked was our first time there , the atmosphere was great really homie , the food was okay not the best asked for a medium ribeye stake sandwich, it was well done , bread was too toasty for me , other then good spot for the locals as well as family and friends , definitely try it out this review is based on my opinion.

Pros: I love small down breakfast eateries. I know that everyone other than us in that building was a local and a regular. I also love a breakfast place that has daily or weekly specials that aren't on their regular menu. Service was super, exactly was you'd expect in the South. And the food was all delicious. Cons: I can't think of a con. This place is just good. They even had a meal that satisfied my boyfriend, and he has quite the appetite. Tips: I got a special, some apple French toast. And it was great. If they have anything like that when you go, get it! Great amount of gooey, delicious apples.

Excellent quality of food with varied breakfast options. Faster service. Plenty of parking options. Space may be limited as this is one of the local favorites.
