We had brunch at Flavor on Main this past Sunday and a few comments. First, the brunch menu on Sunday was not the same as the one shown on their website. Second, we had asked to be seated at a high top table for 4 to the right of the entrance and was told it was reserved. A family of 3 came in soon thereafter and were seated at that table. After a few minutes of looking at the menu, they got up and left. We then asked our server if we could be seated there, and she said yes, she just needed to clear the water glasses. Before she made it back to the table, another family came in and were seated at that table. Our server told the hostess that she had told us we could sit there, but the hostess said it was reserved, and we ended up sitting at the bar instead. Lastly I ordered the Main St Omelet, which came with red pepper's, caramelized onions and bacon. The only issue was there was maybe half a slice of bacon in the Omelet. For $16, there should have been 2 or 3 full slices of bacon! This is most likely the last time I try brunch at Flavor on Main!
One of my favorite, if not the absolute best, places in Culpepper!! The chef is Italian and cooks everything from scratch. Not a microwave in the joint. We couldn't believe how good the food was. We come here every time we pass through on the way to Lake Anna. The cocktails are also on point, with a prohibition flare. There is great history here too! Ask for Sam, she's either bartending or serving tables. You won't regret it!
Second Time Eating Here and LOVED IT BOTH TIMES!!
Very good restaurant. The food was delicious and the service outstanding.
A great place to go with excellent food!
Unfortunately, Flavor on Main did not exactly live up to its name. They were missing parts of their menu and the substitutions were horrible. For the duck leg confit base, instead of cannellini beans they substituted baby limas that were under cooked, hard and mealy . The duck was excellent though. And for the grilled pork, the menu said "roasted fennel" which turned out to be a seasoning which you could not taste or see. I use fennel seed often, it simply wasn't there. It also listed butterbeans, but they were out of them. They were going to substitute the baby limas! I opted for asparagus and it was good. The pork its self was cooked nicely, but lacked inspiration. I could've made it at home.
The cream brulee was good, and my server, though slow on a slow night (Friday @7pm), was also good.
I was disappointed because we've been here before and it was all perfect. This time, not so much. For the price I expect better.

Met up with a former work colleague for brunch. We were hungry, so we ended up essentially ordering 2 breakfasts each. After some slight mix ups, we each got our platters. Eggs were perfect, potatoes & bacon crispy & and delicious, and waffles were amazing. Because of initial miscommunication, the manager reduced the price down to slightly more than just a single breakfast order. I gave atmosphere a slightly lower score because layout and decor was a bit too much like an evening cocktail bar which limited seating options and felt a bit off for a daytime eatery.

I had the pleasure of dining at Flavor on Main last night, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The decor is modern yet cozy, creating a perfect environment for both casual dinners and special occasions.
The service was top-notch — the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured our glasses were always full without being intrusive.
As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was expertly prepared, packed with flavor, and beautifully presented.
I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this gem to friends and family. If you're looking for fantastic food, great service, and a welcoming ambiance, Flavor on Main is a must-

Very disappointing visit for my first, and last, time amidst all the hype of others. We had a party of four and shared a few appetizers, the shrimp cocktail and the seared scallops. The scallops were medium in size and were served only two on a plate for $16, way overpriced for what was served. Shrimp cocktail had four for about the same price but nothing special. This was the start and it went down from there.........The flank steak entree was a tough cut by all accounts and the scallop entree only had four(4) scallops for $34, again way overpriced for a scallop dish. The other two entrees, the filet and the short rib were OK but again not worth the price of admission. We had coffee, espresso and four deserts and along with drinks we racked up a healthy tab. Now for the worst part.....after 2 hours of wining and dining we we were asked to leave our table!! The excuse was that they had other people waiting yet as we walked out at 7:45pm, there were seven(7) empty tables including two large tables on the main dining floor. We sat in the bar area for the next 15 minutes and no one entered after we left. We then waited outside for another 15 minutes and still no one entered. I doubt they were going to have enough clientele to fill those tables after 8:15pm as that is when most establishments are beyond the nightly rush. I have never, in 50 years of dining out, been asked to leave my table after dropping $250 plus on a dinner. This was incredible and uncalled for and we, the four of us, will NEVER be back again and not recommend the place to anyone. This is NOT customer service and will only to continue to drive people away. Good Luck in future and you need to properly train your staff.

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food!
We have been here a few times lately. Our favorites are: Seared Tuna and Duck Confit appetizers. Dinner we've had the Gnocchi which was fresh and very tasty, also the Garganelli with homemade sausage. Skip the crab cake appetizer. More like crab salad. Nice service. Park across the street on Locust for free parking.

Expect to spend around the 50-60 dollar mark per person with appetizer, salad and tip. Drinks will cost you more. Service was excellent, staff friendly, food was tasty and served hot. Outside patio if you prefer.

Finally tried this downtown favorite tonight. Verdict: The food is good, but very overpriced for what it is. I ordered the scallops with risotto and prosciutto ($34) and was brought a plate with a huge mound of risotto, four medium sized scallops, and a few flakes of what looked like bacon bits (but tasted like nothing). GOOD: The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious! NOT SO GOOD: The risotto and its sauce tasted like they came from a box and, as mentioned, the prosciutto might as well have not been there. My (way less of a foodie) spouse got the chicken Arianna and enjoyed it, but I couldn’t try it because it isn’t gluten free. He described it as tasting like “a really good really deep dish chicken pizza,” which I’m not sure they were going for, but he loved it and basically licked his plate clean. 🤷🏼♀️😂
Other pros: The wine list is surprisingly small but very well curated, the cocktail menu is large and creative (and the cocktail we ordered tasted awesome), and the service was very good. They have gluten free options for dining, and they are marked on the menu.
Other cons: Even at half capacity, it’s LOUD. Not sure if this is down to the clientele or the acoustics? There is a TV on the wall of the bar area, which I hate in general, but worse yet, it has a really bad connection to whatever the feed is, so it’s usually frozen with someone’s face in a really awkward expression. 😂
Overall, I gave this 4 stars, but on a 10 star scale it would be more like 7-8.
