Our date of visit was 11/10/2025. We came in at 12:20 and there was only 4 tables with people at them. Took a very long time to get drinks and our food. I feel like I needed to give e the date and time that we were here since the owner seems to be defensive when responding to reviews.
Food left a lot to be desired but to be honest it was the service thay did it for us. It took 50 minutes to get our food that we ordered and once we got our food we never saw our waitress again. Montana should have came and refilled dri KS but she was having to much fun shooting the breeze with her co-workers.
I wanted to like this place but service means a lot when eating out. When we got up to pay our bill and now understood why we had not seen Montana again because she was sitting down eating with the other waitress. No pro lem with that but shouldn't you have taken care of your table first? If the owner was honest and not combative they would respond honestly to this review but time will tell. I should have trusted the other reviews before mine.....
Now look at the response from the owner...again they don't take truth and they lie. Completely false an inaccurate because nobody ever came to our table with refills. Integrity is owning up to your mistakes and this owner clearly does not have integrity!

Me and my girlfriend went here Sunday morning and it was super busy. The staff was friendly enough. The problem were the customers themselves being so rude and judgemental. Now let's talk about the food. The sausage and biscuits taste exactly like what your grandma would make after Sunday church to fatten you up. Delicious and exactly what you needed. My girlfriend got the sausage and French toast, both were tasty! I would definitely come back here.

I went a couple of times; the food was okay, but I didn't like how the employees were treated. I witnessed them yelling at the staff while I was in the bathroom. I definitely won't be going back to that place.

Mmm, bowel of grits
My kids and I ate at Franks on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Upon our arrival, the 4 waitresses that were working, all walked by us several times, not one of them acknowledging our presence. After about 10 minutes, we were seated at a booth. The waitress took our drink order and we ordered thereafter. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our food, mine and my daughter's orders were missing the pancakes. We were surprised that the food was luke-warm. Not wanting to complain, we said nothing and ate our food. After about 15 more minutes, I walked up front to check on the status of our pancakes. The waitress, clearly irritated with us, told us they weren't ready yet. After this encounter, the service was absolutely horrible. The waitress did NOT check on us at all. No drink refills, no napkins, etc. After she dropped off the pancakes, she exhibited a major attitude. We politely asked another server to refill our drinks. After the waitress never returned to our table, we walked upfront to obtain our check so that we could pay. I had put my bacon in a bowl and carried it to the front counter. We were not even offered a to-go box. After bartending and waitressing in my younger years, I am a huge tipper, but this is the first time in about 35 years that I left less than a 25% tip. Quite honestly, the waitress definitely did not deserve a tip, but I did leave something in case the waitresses split their tips. After this experience, I will not be returning to Franks anytime in the near future. This is upsetting because I always support local businesses, but with terrible service, it is not worth it.

Great little diner. Felt like I was back in the 60's. Truly authentic Americana. Every time I think Culpeper couldn't get more charming, I stumble on another delightful place like Franks. Great breakfast, great ambiance and great service. Five stars.

My waitress was great. The food was good. Even had refills on the juice. If I'm back in the area I'd come back. My only issue was the eggs, (which honestly may just be a me thing). But when the scrambled eggs are folded eggs that's chopped up and called scrambled, I just know to order my eggs a different way next time. Anyways KitKat and I did enjoy our first experience at Franks...
