Generally we only eat there for breakfast dishes. Other dinner choices always seem to disappoint on various levels. They seem to fall short on following instructions... like crispy hash browns, always too thick and barely a hint of browning. They cook everything to their playbook despite requests. Too muny things seem to be precooked, the bacon, sausage, and ham... rather than cooked to order. Pancakes were a bit dry and doughy in the center. Service is acceptable but not exceptional.

We came in and waited a few minutes to be seated,restuarant was almost empty. There was a booth with about three employees yelling for the hostest we were there. The most unemotional person seated us. We sat for over 5 minutes no one even spoke to us. The booth diagonal to us was the booth of employees chatting, two girls were cleaning different tables. Since no one cared we were even there we left never even got to order a drink

Been here 2 times in one week and took over 15 minutes for a server to come over. The first time luckly another server took care of us. This time we waiting 15 minutes and no one so we got up and left. Servers were just standing talking. Definitely would recommend going somewhere else if you want service!

We haven’t had a good experience at this IHOP in a couple of years. The wait staff we used to really like have moved on (good for them!), but the remaining staff just hasn’t been great. We don’t come here often because it’s gotten pricey, but when we do, we always hope things will improve.
We last visited back in June for a Saturday brunch. We were seated quickly, and our waitress started off attentive, but after taking our order, she never returned. We waited 30-40 minutes before flagging down another server, who found our food just sitting in the kitchen. It looked like it had been there for a while. Our original server came by afterward, but it was obvious she wasn’t interested in tending to us.
The food itself was just okay. IHOP’s quality has noticeably declined over the past decade, and portion sizes have shrunk dramatically while prices have gone up. The Breakfast Sampler and the Sirloin Steak Tips & Eggs used to be much bigger; now they feel like half portions at full price.
Overall, it was another disappointing visit in a long line of them. I gave two stars only because of the one consistently great part of this location is the very kind lady who walks around with the water jug/coffee jug. She’s always friendly, always checking in, and frankly sets a standard the rest of the staff has struggled to meet.
If you want a solid breakfast spot in town, I’d recommend Country Café & Catering or Frost Café instead. Support local. It’s worth it.

Waiting over 30 minutes for food when my order was supposed to be ready for pick up at 9:28 finally got it after 10pm . Was given dry cold pancakes. Absolutely no syrup or butter. When you go back in though and ask if you can have the stuff that typically comes with pancakes , After waiting for a few minutes, standing there, watching a server stare at me, not getting up sitting in a booth, She finally comes up with a nasty attitude And tells me that she can’t do nothing for me because I didn’t pay for it. Definitely paid for it, Y’all need to get better employees because the little brat that was working clearly doesn’t know what customer service is . I will never come back into a IHOP of Culpepper. The customer service is absolutely horrible in the evenings. Management needs to do something about the girl that’s working tonight.
