This was the catering company that came with Great Marsh Estate, so I can't say we had a lot of choice in who our caterer would be but they still went above and beyond. The staff here was incredible and the food and service both went beyond our expectations.

We are so happy we had Serendipity for our wedding! The food was absolutely delicious and our guests are still talking about it! From start to finish, they were incredibly easy to work with. Their communication was clear, timely, and they made the entire planning process feel effortless. On the wedding day, everything was seamless, beautifully presented, and exactly what we hoped for. We couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience!

Some guest favorites were: Tuscan Chicken, stuffed peppers, pumpkin and sage risotto, and brussel sprouts. :)

Serendipity catered both our wedding at The Refinery and our rehearsal dinner at Seven on Davis in Culpeper, VA. From the very beginning, their team was clear, organized, and professional, which made the planning process seamless.

For our reception, we selected the short ribs, harvest chicken, and a vegan pasta dish. Each entrée was excellent — beautifully plated, flavorful, and well received by all of our guests. The catering team also handled our unique reception layout with ease and flexibility, ensuring service ran smoothly throughout the evening.

We had our wedding catered by Serendipity and we could not be any happier with the quality of the food and the spectacular Serendipity team. We wanted to have Korean/Chinese inspired cuisine, so the Serendipity staff was more than accommodating in our request to customize our menu. They nailed the vision we had for appetizers and dinner and we received many compliments on the food from our guests. It made a world of a difference to have an accessible, patient, and hard working staff - it really showed not only in our planning process as we curated and tasted our menu, but also the incredible execution on the wedding day. Serendipity was such a joy to work with and played a huge role in making our wedding day perfect. The service team was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and well-staffed throughout the entire evening. Guests raved about the bartenders especially—they made great drinks and added such a fun energy to the night. We also really appreciated the beautiful selection of linens and tableware, which pulled everything together visually.

In April 2025, Serendipity Catering & Design catered my daughter’s wedding reception at Rixey Manor, Rixeyville, WA. Working across three different time zones – my daughter stationed in Italy and then Japan, myself in San Diego, and the wedding in Rixeyville, VA- Serendipity came through will professional etiquette, style and efficiency. We relied on some bridesmaids to complete the menu testing, and Serendipity accommodated their work schedules. They offered a good selection of appetizers, side dishes and main entrees, in addition to catering to food allergies. And when the catering staff set up at Rixey Manor, there was 100% efficiency, order and attention-to-detail. We requested specific linen, silverware, dishes and glassware. The tables and food layout looked amazing, and throughout the evening, the venue operated smoothly. My responsibilities were to mingle with guests and family, and have fun too. We have used Serendipity Catering for numerous corporate functions in the last 3 years. Dorian is an absolute pleasure to work with and gets us set up for whatever needs we have for a variety of events. Most recently we added them as our vendor for our Oktoberfest themed block party in our parking lot for over 400 people. Everyone that attended said the food was the best it has been in all the years of the event. The catering team at every event is professional and ensures every request we have is accommodated and executed perfectly. I highly recommend Serendipity for any of your catering / service needs!

We worked with Serendipity as part of having our wedding at Great Marsh. At first, we weren't sure how it would go as we didn't have a choice with our venue selection, but we were incredibly happy with their food quality, responsiveness, organization, and staff. Everyone we worked with was so kind and talented and we would highly recommend them!!

Serendipity catered our wedding in October ‘24 and they were wonderful to work with. They were very accommodating, made the planning process super easy, and worked with us for months to get the menu and details just right, including patiently answering all of our questions.

On the day of, their operations were so smooth and efficient we barely knew they were there. Linens and settings looked great. Table service was polite, the buffet was well stocked, and everything was even better than at our tasting. They also did a great job setting aside food for us as the couple. Although sadly we were too busy to enjoy much of it, all our guests raved about the food!

We’d highly recommend Serendipity for any event catering in Virginia, they helped make our wedding an incredible experience.

We highly recommend the Serendipity team! We hired them for our wedding back in September and they were awesome. Krystal was so quick to respond to all of the questions I had bombarded her with. We just had our wedding this weekend, but I was so impressed with Serendipity that I had to hop on here and write a review! The team was so helpful every step of the way, and we thoroughly appreciated how accommodating they were for me and my husband’s vegan meal preferences. Not only that, but the food was DELICIOUS—sometimes vegan entrees at weddings can be hit or miss, and Serendipity definitely did not miss. The real reason I wanted to write this review though was because of the service provided by the catering staff the day of the wedding; the staff was so kind and helpful and that meant so much to me. We really felt taken care of by the staff which definitely helped relieve the wedding day stress. Thank you!
