This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant for over 15 years even though we moved 45 mins away. This would be our spot whenever we go to Woodbridge... But today I've decided it's over.! The generals chicken tasted like two days old meat and the battered was old also. The shrimp in the fried rice was rubber, plus the amount given for the general chicken is smaller than what it used to be. My advice...Serve fresh food not old.

Visited 9/18/24 The food was not good. It tasted old and with no flavor. We were truly disappointed we used to visit Sampan back in the day. The rice is brown with little pieces of egg & no veggies. The best thing was the lunch price $8.95.
Vegetarian options: You can order meals without meat.
Dietary restrictions: There are none. It's all fried.
Parking: The restaurant is located in a shared plaza.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to enter and exit the restaurant

Not sure what happened with the food here it used to be good. The last few times i have ordered its not the same, Lo mein & combination fried rice is very plain in flavor. Crab ragoon was completely awful the filling tasted like if it was expired.

Egg drop soup good. Crunches that goes with the soup soft and taste stale. General psi’s chicken the worst I’ve ever eaten.sooo crunchy you could not taste any chicken. Hard and taste no fresh. Never got on bad tasting food before. But this time was a waste of our money. Called to sampans to complain she said the next time just order soft chicken. You have a choice either hard or soft. Never will eat their again

Beware: No refunds or Order Remaks from this restaurant for unseasoned food.
I would like to start by saying, “What Happened to the customer is always right.”(especially about my food)
I ordered shrimp egg foo young with jumbo shrimp, hot and sour soup with extra tofu, beef lo mein, and chicken wings = $60.34. Every last dish was unseasoned, I called back the following morning explaining how I still had my dinner, and that it was unseasoned. Which started a little back and forth conversation. He explained to me that they don’t put any seasoning in the egg foo young , everything else was seasoned. Which is incorrect, and the cook should know most people prefer a little salt & pepper on eggs. So to me it says it all, this is a mild or spicy Chinese spot. No skill needed. I ate here a few years back and got a totally different result with the same order, it tasted like New York Chinese food. It tasted like they should be closed today.

I've been getting takeout from this place for thirty years, their egg rolls used to be huge. The egg rolls are still bigger than other restaurants, but not as big as they used to be. This restaurant is takeout or delivery only, there are no tables, just an order counter and some seats to wait for your food. It's a reliable option, but not the best Chinese food in the area.

It’s ok…The rice was pretty bad, all the sauces were sooo sweet I just stopped eating. I ordered dinner not dessert. My wife thought her food was “ok/pretty good”. I didn’t try her order after giving up on mine.

They do not give you whole chicken wings they split one in half so you're basically paying about $9 for three yes I said #3 wings the title is misleading it should say six/6 party wings for $9, a chicken wing consists of a flat and drum part which is two parts, a party wing is one or the other which is what you receive and is not worth the price I shared a photo of what I ordered and it is clearly waaaay over priced

We usually go here when in the area, this past time was the worst. The rice is really greasy. No flavor, found hair in the food. The spring rolls were disgusting. It’s like they didn’t cut up the cabbage. The spring rolls were shaped like egg rolls, normally they a long and skinny. Will never order from here again.
