I've been getting takeout from this place for thirty years, their egg rolls used to be huge. The egg rolls are still bigger than other restaurants, but not as big as they used to be. This restaurant is takeout or delivery only, there are no tables, just an order counter and some seats to wait for your food. It's a reliable option, but not the best Chinese food in the area.

It’s ok…The rice was pretty bad, all the sauces were sooo sweet I just stopped eating. I ordered dinner not dessert.My wife thought her food was “ok/pretty good”. I didn’t try her order after giving up on mine.

They do not give you whole chicken wings they split one in half so you're basically paying about $9 for three yes I said #3 wings the title is misleading it should say six/6 party wings for $9, a chicken wing consists of a flat and drum part which is two parts, a party wing is one or the other which is what you receive and is not worth the price I shared a photo of what I ordered and it is clearly waaaay over priced

We usually go here when in the area, this past time was the worst. The rice is really greasy. No flavor, found hair in the food. The spring rolls were disgusting. It’s like they didn’t cut up the cabbage. The spring rolls were shaped like egg rolls, normally they a long and skinny. Will never order from here again.

I tried this place when I went vacationing, and have been coming back ever since. The staff are very friendly and kind, and their food is top notch quality and very delicious. Loved the shrimp fried rice, beef with mixed veggies, general TSO chicken and sweet and sour chicken, although everything is very yummy. Would go back next time, 10/10 would recommend.

Customer service has worsened over the years!! My family and I used to order here all the time, but lately the customer service standards have lowered. Ordered an hour before closing time(live about 5 minutes away) and 10 minutes after the delivery time I called the restaurant for an update, only to be told they’ll check on our order and “call me back”, they never did. Thankfully, someone eventually took the dog out and found the food just sitting on the ground. No knock, no call, nothing. Even worse, an item was missing. I decided to call the next day as this was a bit ridiculous considering everything, only to be non stop questioned and told “the item was in the bag, just watched the security video, it was in the bag”. Unless the delivery driver is stealing food, it wasn’t in the bag. Trying to request a refund for the missing item, I was just cut off and told to come pick up the missing item, which I did. But the whole experience left a bad taste, and unfortunately, we were trying to introduce around 10 people to this place, since we used to love it so much. I doubt they’ll be trying it again.
Disgusting! they use to be decent but this place going downhill with no brakes. They just need to give it up at this point. Entire order was gross! the chicken wings and mambo sauce trash..fries were soggy and chicken tasted terrible it was not edible, the crispy sesame beef was like chewing on a soggy bootyhole i would give 0 stars if I could..DO NOT EAT HERE !! Avoid like the plague ?

We had the general tso's chicken. It wasn't Tangy or spicy, it just tasted sweet.To be fair, I'm not sure if you can request it to be more spicy. They didn't ask.

So I wanted to write a good reveiw and I couldnt I lived out of the area and would always come to Sampan when coming back to dalecity and last night I ordered Sezchaun Beef and fried rice and aslo a app Beef on a stick and the food was awful ? and tasted of old grease that hasnt been changed in 3yrs Everything tasted like old reheated food and tasted nothing like the old Sampan we all loved for so many years and It seems like they dont care anymore about the quality and it hasnt been the same so I tried China Gourmet and its much better food and portions are generous and the people are amazing and so friendly I wish I didnt decide to give Sampan another try cuz it was disappointing to say the least please dont waste your time or $$ theres definitely better food and customer service else where Team China Gourmet from here on out ?
