Great food at this pub - sat in the bar and had 2 TV’s going with sports channels. There is a dining room that is more climate controlled. There is also outdoor seating under a picnic shelter.Only 4 beers on tap, and none local. - 1 star.Waitress was attentive, but as we were there at peak dinner time, it did take a while to get food to the table.Hiking, biking or driving, easily accessible to all.

We really wanted to love this grill we had heard about but unfortunately our experience wasn't what we had hoped for. I believe it could be really good and that we were here on an off day. They were very busy during the time we dined in. I can handle a wait for really good food but after 50 minutes waiting for my burger and fries that were overcooked and had mayo (asked for no mayo) and no cheese when asked for American, I was disappointed. We would like to try it again another time and hope for a better experience.

The fam and I chose this place "because it smelled good" as we passed it while on the Creeper Trail. For reference, this was a Sunday afternoon. 1 pm. The good: We were seated promptly. Then we waited. After about 10 minutes our server showed up and took our drink and appetizer order. I was told they didn't have the ingredients for one of their signature cocktails, The AT. I skipped on alcohol and stuck with water. Our rocket tots came out, and were average. Nothing to write home about. Refills on the drinks happened once. Our food order was taken, then we waited. And waited. And then waited some more. After 45 minutes, our food came out together. Two burgers, a salad, and a pizza. The burgers (ordered medium rare) came out well-done and without condiments. The Margherita pizza was over cooked, with only the inner 1/3 looking edible. My Santa Fe salad came out without dressing. After condiments came out shortly, we ate and everyone was particularly underwhelmed with the food. The tots and fries were overcooked, yet cold from sitting in the serving window. The salad was ok but nothing special. The bill came out and noticed we were charged for the signature cocktail they didn't have the ingredients for (at $12.50) but didn't charge us for the two soft drinks nor the Cider, so we figured that was a wash on the charges. Our server was pleasant enough, though she only checked on us twice over the course of an hour. We just made a note not to try this place next time. We did check Yelp after the fact and discovered a number of average to poor reviews within the past two months, so shame on us for not checking. This will be a hard pass for us on the next go-around.

Wanted pizza and beer in Damascus after hiking 52 miles on the AT. Pizza was average, beer was cold, fried pickles where really good. Place was clean and our waitress was awesome. We did not have them but the bugers going by looked really good!Parking: Parking was a front and side lot. Plenty available.

Spent a couple of days in Damascus and stopped into Grill for dinner. Seated promptly at outside bar. Wife ordered steak & cheese sandwich, I the Day Hiker burger. Both were very good. I always order medium burgers to get some pink. About 50% of time I get that. Mine was perfectly done and very juicy! And at a 1/3 lb. patty very filling. Wife enjoyed her sandwich. For dessert shared their "crack" cake...delicious cinnamon and butter bunt cake. My Mom made excellent bunt cakes and she would have loved this. Very tasty! On the plus side very good prices, friendly service, reasonably priced foods that are well-prepared. Only negative for me, I was hoping for better local beer selection on tap. Lots of great beers within 2 hours of Damascus...get some on tap! No dogs (ours stayed in car)...sit outside with it's nice vibe. Order dessert...then hike it off!

Used to be awesome. Service last two visits was terrible. Left today after waiting an hour. Waitress apologized and was stressed out to max. Should've never seated people if they couldn't bring food inside an hour.

Oh I so hate giving a negative review but here goes. On a positive note we did get seated right away and our server brought our drinks and one appetizer fairly quickly. The fried Pickles were yummy to our tummies! From there it went down hill. Our second appetizer was given away (admittedly by the folks at the restaurant) so we had to wait twice as long for the 2nd appetizer. But the mozarella sticks were good. After that our server went MIA because she had a large party come in. Someone else brought our food order. I had ordered the rocket tots and half ceasar salad. The tots were completely cold and the Ceasars salad was so drenched in Ceasar salad dressing it was unbearable to eat. Now the Mascato wine was delish! My husband ordered the chicken wings and he said they were ok. He also ordered regular tots but never received them. Our friends ordered the 10 oz sirloin which they enjoyed. They got two sides - taters tots which were hot and the fries which were limp (some undercooked and some were overcooked). Our server eventually did come back and apologized then got our ticket for us and wished our friends a happy Anniversary. Unfortunately we dont see a 2nd visit in store for us while we are here.

Great diner-style food at reasonable prices with an incredibly kind staff. They've got a nifty outdoor patio, but we opted to beat the heat indoors. Solid beer selection and excellent burgers. Rocket tots were everything I'd hoped and more. Perfect spot for a post-hike celebratory meal.

Great place for food and drinks after coming off the biking trail. These fried pickles are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Beer was cold and food selection varied.

Good service but the food was average at best. Salad was really over-coated in dressing, fries were cold and the burgers were just ok. If you’re just stopping in for drinks I’d recommend it if you sit outside but for a meal I’d recommend going elsewhere

Our group of six ate lunch here after touring the Appalachian Heritage Distillery right down the road. Across our party we had chips and salsa, queso and guacamole, cheese sticks, buffalo wings, salads and burgers. 100% of the food was 100% delicious. The burgers are fresh, local beef so that is a must do. It doesn’t matter which one you get, they are all excellent. The place is very relaxed and the people make for a great experience.

Awful experience. I am only giving it two stars because the food was okay.We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after riding the creeper trail. It wasn’t busy at all. Our server was Heather. There were three tables and heather was freaking out about a 20 top coming in. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my girlfriend ordered chicken tenders, both satisfactory.Heather forgot to refill our drink, introduce herself, bring us a box, ask if our food was alright, just basic server duties. I understand that places get busy, and short staffed but come on. Perhaps Heather isn’t meant to be a server.

Not a place for families. We were greeted by friendly staff and asked to sit where we wanted. We noticed the ghetto trash wrap dropping f bombs while walking to the table. Thinking it was an unfortunate song pushed by a streaming service we looked at the menu. The next song popped up and after the third f bomb we walked out.

I have tried several items on their menu and they have all been delicious. The wait staff was very friendly. My favorite was the brick oven baked pizza.

Let me start by pointing out that most of my reviews are for places I really enjoyed. I don't like to complain about a place I went to once that perhaps was just having a bad night, but this place was just bad enough I feel the need to warn out-of-towners. We were there a couple nights ago and got seated outside around 7:30. Our server promptly greeted us and got our drink and appetizer orders while we waited for the rest of the group to show up (seven total). Five minutes later everyone else is there and their drink/appetizer orders are taken pretty quickly. Great. All orders were taken by around 7:45. The initial appetizer order came out maybe 15 minutes later. Garlic parm chicken wings were OK. But then we just waited. And waited. Annnnd waited.... We watched people come and go. Our sever came out and told us our ticket got pushed behind another big order. COOL. Around 9:00 some of our food came out. Not everyone's, but most. We were there for a race the next day so at this point ready to go so we could get some rest. The food that did come out was ok - nothing to write a review about. We told them not to worry about what hadn't come out yet because we were ready to go and asked for the checks. We waited some more. Watched our server come back out and serve drinks to a table before finally bringing our checks. One thing that's funny: one of the orders that never came was just a simple order of tater tots. My burger, which did come out, had a side of tots with it. How they could make my tots to go with my burger but non the tots for the single order of tots is beyond me. I left with the feeling that the locals who were there got put first by the kitchen staff/ management. We were people they'd probably (definitely after that experience) never see again. I don't recommend this place to anyone passing through. The food wasn't special. The wait was mind boggling.
