Overall bad experience at Delaplane.
5 stars for the view alone!
Good wine with breathtaking views.
Highly recommend. The wine tasting and wine selection were great. The staff were amazing and provided top tier a customer experience. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Make a reservation if you plan to go on the weekend.
Delaplane cellars exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The staff did a phenomenal job not just recommending but also ensuring we had what we wanted throughout our time there, they were very well knowledgeable both in what to recommend as well as discussing certain aspects of the wine making process.
This is one of the few places I would go after work not just for the wine and scenery but for the staff as well.
Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. They also have a nice wine list.
I had a lovely experience visiting Delaplane Cellars. I hike often and try to visit a new winery after. When I get to a location for wine tasting I am often muddy or at the least very sweaty. They were very welcoming despite my hiker appearance!
The red flight was delicious. The Petit Verdot was my fave. There's a large list of snacks available, but not for vegans. They do allow dogs on the property but only on the grassy areas. It would be difficult to get service on the lawn so I wouldn't recommend bringing your dog.
As others have said, the grounds and views are gorgeous. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed their wines and the Virginia Sampler Charcuterie Board with various cheeses. This is less a negative and more of caution, be aware Delaplane Cellars is pricey. My wife and I frequent many wineries in the Valley and Delaplane Cellars is definitely on the higher end. On our last visit, we ordered one tasting, one Virginia sampler and one glass of white. The bill was $85 plus the tip. I recommend just buying a bottle and sharing it.
Make sure they give you the correct bottle or they will overcharge you for something you don’t want
Cameron waited on us and did an Amazing job. We arrived without a reservation and they fit us in. We did a red wine tasting and took a bottle of Adjacency. What a great place!

We did a guided seated tour with Matt W. What an experience!! He sat with us for almost four hours for a wide-ranging discussion about the wine making process and the various nuances of wine varieties in Virginia and North America. He was extremely knowledgeable and generously shared his time far beyond the standard tour. We highly recommend coming for the wine, the ambiance, and the company of the wine ambassadors!
Local musician, Laura Cashman took the stage with her extraordinarily nostalgic covers from the 1990s and 2000s. Overall a tremendous experience that we highly recommend to all.
This place has delicious wines and small bites, beautiful views, lots of seating inside and out, and (occasional) live music. I've been here several times and highly recommend it! Just so you know, the driveway is gravel, and parking at the main building is available in the front and back.
Randomly stopped in after spotting it on our way to the Sky Meadows State Park and was able to be seated on the patio without a reservation during late summer. We ordered one of the charcuterie boards and flights. The board options were interesting and the one we went with had great flavor, however my only critique would be it was overwhelming with cheese and underwhelming with meat and nuts, a better balance would have been preferred. The wines were all good; we are not wine enthusiasts so I cannot comment on tannins, legs, and all the other terms but I can simply say they tasted like good wine. Overall, it was a nice experience at the end of a day of trails and hiking.
Really good wines can’t really complain the Barrel Fermented Chardonnay was good in their wine tasting.
