As others have said, the grounds and views are gorgeous. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed their wines and the Virginia Sampler Charcuterie Board with various cheeses. This is less a negative and more of caution, be aware Delaplane Cellars is pricey. My wife and I frequent many wineries in the Valley and Delaplane Cellars is definitely on the higher end. On our last visit, we ordered one tasting, one Virginia sampler and one glass of white. The bill was $85...
We did a guided seated tour with Matt W. What an experience!! He sat with us for almost four hours for a wide-ranging discussion about the wine making process and the various nuances of wine varieties in Virginia and North America. He was extremely knowledgeable and generously shared his time far beyond the standard tour. We highly recommend coming for the wine, the ambiance, and the company of the wine ambassadors!
