We loved everything about TJs! The children really enjoyed seeing their pizzas made and going in & out of the big oven and the pizzas were delicious. Our server was so friendly and sweet, the children talked about her all the way home. All six of us fully enjoyed our meals. Another patron bought the children ice cream , which was also delicious and very much enjoyed. We definitely recommend and will be back soon!Kid-friendliness: Our children loved seeing the pizza oven in operation. The staff were super friendly and another customer bought them ice cream!

TJ's Place is one of my favorite out-of-town pizzerias. Every year my wife, in-laws, and I stay at Claytor Lake State Park and on our first night there, we order pizza from TJ's. Their large pizzas are huge and perfect for feeding big groups. The food quality does not get compromised with the increased size of their pizzas. They have an extensive list of amazing specialty pizzas. The Bob's Big Hole pizza is a favorite in our family. It features Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Green Pepper, Mushroom, and Mozzarella. As with the quality of the food, the staff always has our order ready in a timely manner making service excellent. I dream of TJ's Place's pizza every year leading up to our lake vacation.

Super tasty, family owned diner. Food is high quality and sold at a reasonable cost. Can recommend the Philly cheese steak, the fried shrimp Po' boy, and their pizza (cooked in a huge pizza oven!). Kitchen is fully visible from the dining area, which shows they are confident that they are serving good food. Will definitely be frequenting this lovely restaurant.

We drove 20 minutes to checkout TJ's as we are new to the area and we love pizza. When we arrived there was only two other tables that had quest seated and we were seated right away. The restaurant had a sign up no alcohol per violation. Our waitress took are order and was very patient with us ordering. I got a 8" pizza with pepperoni mushrooms, onion, green peppers and black olives. My husband ordered a 12" pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese and we got pretzels as a appetizer. We enjoyed the pretzels and when or pizzas came out they were made as ordered only my pizza's crust was much thicker than my husband's. I tasted both and there definitely was a difference in taste in the crust. Husband didn't like his as much as I enjoyed mine. Not sure why there was such a difference in the thickness only maybe they used the same amount of dough for both pizzas. Just a guess about that. The waitress and staff were friendly enough. I only gave 4 stars because of no beer and the difference in the dough thickness.

Cute little locally owned restaurant. Just down from the state park and right off the water. Everyone was friendly. Service was quick. For came out HOT, and everything tasted great. We got a cheeseburger ( not homestyle. ? ) but my son said it was still good. We also got chicken strips and fries. I got the chicken strips with the baby bakes ( deep-fried whole golden mini taters) they were great!!! My husband got the meatball sub and the Buffalo fries ( seasoned chip shaped fries) they were also good. The ranch and honey mustard were great. We will be back. They also have nightly specials that sound good.
