We had Shaffers Cater for our wedding. The food was great! We did a tasting prior to selecting them and got to meet Georgia, Debbie, and Billy. They were all kind people who worked with us to plan the perfect wedding meal. As a vegetarian bride, I was a bit worried about going with a BBQ place but they make AMAZING vegetables! Our guest also loved the stuffed chicken. At the end of the night, they asked if they could donate the leftover food to to a local shelter and of course I said yes! Great people, great food.

If you are getting married in the Shenandoah, VA area, we highly recommend calling Schaffer’s. Working with Georgia was a breeze; she communicated well and helped navigate not only the main dishes, but desserts, linens, plasticware, and our bartender. She was very accommodating with additional small requests and coordinated seamlessly with other vendors leading up to the day. The service during the dinner was also amazing. A very friendly and efficient crew of caterers made sure everyone was fed and never without a beer in hand! The food was delicious and we had plenty of leftovers to enjoy. The wedding day ran so smoothly thanks to the crew at Shaffers!!Schaffer’s also has a wonderful storefront/deli where you can purchase their food and hot meals. Highly recommend!

Have been coming here for years. Not sure I'll be back again. The BBQ has slipped big time here and this is what they were known for as far as I am concerned. The Chicken Salad is still good though. The cookies they sell are supposedly homemade and if they are then homemade has really changed. Had the Choc Chip yesterday and it was kind of like eating cookies from the Walmart store. There is still some good here but employees ignoring you when you come in is different for me. No need to hang all over me but at least greet me and say something like "let us know if we can help find something." I miss what this location was at one time.

My husband planned my Halloween Birthday and wanted a Halloween cake, they said they would see what they could do and look at my scary beautiful cake! So happy. I’m upset that I even have to write this. My wedding was this past weekend. We paid for catering and bartending services. The actual food and service people were on time and very helpful. The bartender? Almost two hours LATE. She apparently didn’t know she had to work. Me and my groom walked up to the bar after saying I do, and asked for the His and Hers drinks (the sign was on the bar), to which she replied “I don’t even know what the his and hers drinks are, I just got here”. People at my wedding said they saw the bartenders taking shots. Did I mention that the bartender brought her FRIEND WHO WAS NOT LICENSED to help her bartend??????? Contacted the company and still have not heard from them.
