Geocaching in the area, and looked for an interesting restaurant. I found it here. I love antiques, and I love when they take an original building and don't change it very much to turn it into a restaurant. The food was good, and the staff are excellent. Very friendly and helpful. I think it's worth a visit, and I would like to come back in warmer weather and sit out on that deck.

Ordered blackened tuna, not as a sandwich, because of certain dietary restrictions, just the tuna steak. Husband ordered a ribeye steak. When we arrived there 5 people leaving, a couple came in after us, that’s all that were there. We waited an hour for our food, waitress came out with a tray containing our food & the couple that came in after us. I looked on the tray, there was tuna steak sandwich & a ribeye steak sandwich, both of our orders were wrong. I paid for our drinks & left. I’ve been eating here since they opened & received better service when the place was full!! The waitress couldn’t answer any questions without having to go ask & didn’t seem to know much about anything. We drove 45 miles for this disaster!!

Really cool atmosphere with an open concept. Lots of windows. Very nice and helpful staff, though a tad slow sometimes. No matter, there was a variety of chocies and it was all delicious. We will be repeat consumers.

I recently took a group of out-of-town visitors to Charley's restaurant, hoping they would have a memorable dining experience showcasing our local culinary scene. However, the evening turned into quite a disappointment. Despite the restaurant appearing almost empty, with only a handful of staff and very few other patrons present, the wait for even simple drinks from the bar was an agonizing 20 to 25 minutes per order. When our food finally arrived, it was not only sloppily presented, lacking any attention to detail, but also disappointingly warm, not hot as it should have been. I felt incredibly embarrassed by the subpar service and the overall poor quality of the meal, and I've already promised my guests that our next dining outing will be at the much better-regarded establishment just down the street. As an added note, I was equally embarrassed by the admission of our waitstaff that she was afraid to address Jeff, the bartender, regarding our drinks. His mood was foul and she was clearly uncomfortable voicing any concerns. This lack of service and the bartender's attitude significantly detracted from what should have been a pleasant evening.
The cheesecake and wings were really good. The Alfredo was fine once you add salt and red pepper flakes. The crab dip had no crab and the crab cakes weren't lump crab meat. They were dry but the sauce made all the difference. They said their crab was their top seller but I'm from Maryland so ..........

I need more stars. It is a ten star restaurant. Excellent everything. Right on the Appomattox River. Inside and outside dining. Food is be beyond delicious. Service is 10 star. Ample parking. We travel one hour and twenty minutes just to sune there. Plenty to do too in the wonderful town of Farmville. Not to mention the Highbridge Trail, a part of the Virginia State Parks, goes right through the middle of town. And don't forget Green Front Furniture Co. You can make a day of it. More than you can do in a day.

We love Charley's so today we decided to try the Date Night special. We only have one word...amazing! We had the crab dip for our appetizer and the beef tips. Everything was delicious! You can't beat this deal (which is available all day). We also had a wonderful server, Rylee! She was the sweetest! We will be recommending to everyone!
