Today was my first time visiting Poplar Sips. I was overjoyed to hear a second coffee shop opening here in Farmville; unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations.
First, my latte and bagel (which tasted quite good, to be fair) took quite a few moments to come out. I can say with 150% certainty this was not the young ladies running the counter's faults. They were hardworking, very kind and sociable, and doing wonderfully.
I'm more inclined to blame it on the woman who I assume is the manager or owner-- There was a grown woman verbally degrading these two student workers the entire time I was there. That is NOT right. They were working hard and clearly trying, and yet I overheard one girl getting lectured over cream cheese on a bagel.
If you choose to visit Poplar Sips, expect good food and drink and customer service from the student workers and terrible energy from the owner/manager.

I absolutely LOVED my experience here. The food was so delicious, coffee was so good!! Everything is locally sourced and you can tell in the best way possible! The coffee syrup is all natural and wasn’t overly sweet like the torani syrup that most coffee shops use. I love the calm atmosphere and authenticity. I live in Indiana but would love to come back when I’m in the area again!

This is a new edition to main street in Farmville and a good one for sure. Only gave a 4 because the vibe was a little weak I think and it seemed like they ran out of espresso beans at like noon on a Sunday. Either way if you are in or near Farmville I recommend a visit even if just for a coffee.

54 minutes, and $21. For an iced latte and a basic sandwich.
The latte came out first after 24 minutes.
The sandwich arrived second after 54 minutes.
For $13 of the $21 - the Firebird sandwich was pitiful. One single piece of turkey.
The service is cold, you can’t see a menu until it’s time to order, and the owner is uninterested in speaking to customers.

Very unhygienic. The young lady who prepared my smoothie picked tissue from her shoe and didn't wash her hands. She prepared the carrots with the same ungloved, unwashed hands. They can keep the smoothie. I will not be returning.

It's beautiful in here! The artwork is lovely and the lighting is perfect. The barista convinced me to try the pistachio latte and I'm so glad I did! It was incredible. The sandwiches were really good and filling too.

I stopped by Poplar Sips in Farmville, VA, and it was an absolute treat! The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was perfectly cooked — warm, flavorful, and so satisfying. I paired it with one of their fresh green juices, which was crisp, refreshing, and packed with goodness. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and everything felt made with care. This is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to whenever I’m in town!

I never expected to find a coffee mecca in the middle of Virginia. But Poplar Sips checks all the boxes for my coffee nerddom. From pour overs to ceremonial matchas to silky espresso, this place knows its beans. In addition Angela serves some of the tastiest bagels I’ve had outside of New York City. It’s a must visit when you come to Farmville.

Really good coffee, and they know how to make a proper latte and cappuccino! The food is fresh and made to order. Having alpha gal, I don't trust lunch meats cut on a slicer. Poplar Sips has a whole turkey breast and I watch her cut it with a clean knife! Highly recommend :-)

Excellent customer service! Love the cold pressed juices especially The Greens and We Got the Beet. Angela and her staff always make you feel welcome. Their menu offers a wide variety of healthy options. The atmosphere is relaxing. Welcome to Farmville and thank you for bringing this charming business here and sharing your vision with us.
