These ladies know exactly what they're doing on the grill....pancakes cooked to perfection. Everyone at our table cleaned their plates. No frills breakfast filled us up for a day of walking. Can't wait to come back and be a regular!

Visiting daughter at Longwood University and stopped for lunch . The chicken soup was thick and different color than regular chicken broth. Would not recommend the soup . The burger was so tiny and no flavor . The steak sandwich was small and ok , only ok . Expensive for 2 people , 30 dollars . Had breakfast weeks ago and the sausage gravy was watery and no flavorful. Expensive and just bad food . The waitress staff doesn't seem happy to work. They are not friendly but so there job .

I cannot appreciate more how wonderful the server and owner treated us. My heart was warmed to experience such a family friendly environment. The food was special and although I am visiting, I plan to return again. I encourage anyone to support this business.

Never got our food. Waited for 45 minutes to get eggs, never came. Find somewhere else to waste 45 minutes.

Went to this diner on a Saturday morning with my college age daughter, her friend and my family to have a nice meal before their performance at Longwood University. Never in my life have I ever been treated as rudely as I was at Riverside Diner this morning!!!! We walked in at 10:45, were told that we could only order breakfast, then waited over 35 minutes for basic breakfast food. When we inquired about our food the owner/manager lumbered over to our table and basically told us that it was our fault that we had not received our food. And at that point our food was not even on the grill to be prepared. Don’t waste your time. Would give negative stars if I could.

Service is awful here. Only go here if you would like to be blamed for your food taking over 30 minutes to be prepared. Furthermore, the owner/manager should consider his career choice because it is not okay to talk to your customers the way he did. I think I have had better service at Applebee’s.

We made the trip to meet our Longwood student for breakfast, excited to try this "local spot." Placed order, and waited, and waited, and...waited. When I asked, we were told we "came in late...and then other reasons (all our fault) why we had not received our food after 40 plus minutes. Shouldn't take this long for eggs. Rude manager, never got food. Will not be back.

The coffee was fresh. The food was unremarkable. The waitress was quick with refills. Unfortunately, the old lady running the grill was so slow that we sat there for almost an hour. Ultimately, I will never return.Oh, yeah.... Who with a gravel parking lot in a tiny town ends breakfast? Its' a tad pretentious.Go somewhere else. We left looking for dinner.
