So, Love the place! And the people are nice! But, why does my coffee today taste like cigarette buds? Very much confusion!

I wanted to support a local coffee shop instead of Starbucks while in town but honestly, just go to Starbucks. We ordered two flavored lattes and paid $20 lol. They charge $6 ish for the latte and then $3ish for flavored syrup and an additional charge for oat milk. Not only is it a ripoff, it didn’t even taste good. The people working there were nice but all in all i wouldn’t come back. Also, if you’re like a party of 4+ they charge gratuity whether u like it or not

I never leave reviews, but had to share. We were visiting Farmville one weekend while furniture shopping. We saw this local coffee shop, and it looked nice. We ordered 4 sandwiches, and drinks. I was surprised by the 17.5% auto gratuity and 3%cc charge with no mention or signage informing us. Plus the receipt asked for addl tips. Plus the tip jar. A little obnoxious, but whatever. The food tasted good. But when our 4th order came out (sandwich & fries), the waitress was actively munching on fries that she had in her hand. It begged the question, was it a fry from our plate or was she eating her own lunch while making ours? Finally, the bathroom had paper towels stuffed in the toilet, one of the servers noted this however never took care of it by the time we left which was about an hour later. This place has a lot of potential and in looking at older reviews, it seems like it used to be much better.

Definitely stop here if you are passing through. You’ll need the caffeine, so why not enjoy the cup? Uptown Coffeehouse is a very cozy cafe with made-to-order food options. We ordered a Latte and a flat white. Both were excellent. It’s always nice to chat with someone who cares about — and enjoys — making a good espresso!

I wrote a review a few weeks ago mentioning a few changes to the menu that I missed and mourning the lack of fries on their online menu. We went back today to give them another try and I honestly doubt we’ll ever be back. The food was mediocre at best and apparently 4 sandwiches now qualifies as a “large party/ additional gratuity” order so we were charged an additional $11 without any notice at all. I don’t have a problem with tipping—I do have a problem with being charged for something that doesn’t apply. We would’ve been happy to tip for quality service at the end of our meal, but sneaking in additional fees just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and feels dishonest. This is also a business where you order at the counter and then clean and clear your own table. So having an automatic additional gratuity added is bizarre to me. 4 mediocre sandwiches ended up costing $82 with all the added fees and taxes.
Nice cozy place for a latte.

Great espresso. Multiple choices for plant milks. Hard to get food without animal products. The smoothie I got out of desperation was syrupy sweet and slightly artificial tasting.
Came in for coffee and ice cream with my family and the service was so slow and the staff were just not interested in customer service whatsoever. We had to ask for our order after waiting like 25 minutes. The staff behind the counter just seemed put off to even make our drinks or scoop our ice cream. Do not waste your time or money here.

This little place has such potential, but fell flat today. My husband and I looked at the online breakfast menu prior to coming here. Sunday breakfasts are our thing. I was stoked at the online selections of oatmeals with various fruits and nuts. This was our first visit. When we got there and I asked for the oatmeal with blueberries. They stared back blankly and said, "we don't have that." Okay,... On to plan B.... My husband orders breakfast with eggs, hash rounds, and bacon. We went to find a seat. The available tables were not cleaned. Food and Crumbs were everywhere. (The place was maybe half filled with customers). I ended up cleaning us off a table. My husband's order finally came out and the bacon was literally black it was so burnt. The scrambled eggs were brown (and according to my husband were rehydrated powdered eggs). My bagel (the only food I ordered) came out about 10 minutes later in a to-go box.
With the drastic polarity in reviews here, I can't help but wonder if there is a primary "A" team that works during the week and a "B" team works the weekends??? If that's the case, I'm sorry to say the "B" team gets a C-minus.

A friend and I went for the first time on Sunday and we ordered our food around 2:30PM, unaware the kitchen would be closing at 3PM, we paid and were asked to be seated. We waited almost 45 minutes and still had no food, my friend got up to go ask about something else and mentioned that we still had no food, I heard her say that, so I got up and went and talked to the girl at the register and the girl told us the cook was no where to be found. They called the cook and he said the kitchen was closed and he wasn't making the food. We got offered free Ice cream and 50% refund. We left never got our food and will most likely never be back.I don't like giving restaurants bad reviews but I feel like this is important for anyone who is going for the first time to be aware of, if you do go make sure to go a while before the kitchen closes.I will have to say that the poor girl at the register had no control of it and was very helpful, I just wish she had come to us and told us the cook left when they realized. Not going to say don't go at all but want to inform anyone who does to ask when the kitchen is closing.Sorry for the long review. They ended up giving me my full refund back and apologizing to me for the service. All in all what went from a moral experience went to a not a bad one.

So sad to write this because I've been coming here a long time, but it's just really gone downhill. The food is ok, but prices are high, and service is generally not great. I came in recently, ordered an expensive milkshake, and waited almost 20 minutes for it even though they were not very busy at all. The business hours are constantly changing--and I've been kicked out multiple times when they up and decided to close early. Plus, the bathroom is never ever clean. I really want to love my local coffee shop, but I just can't with this place anymore.

I went in with a friend who got an iced coffee, but didn't end up getting anything myself and after watching his exchange with the counter people and just looking at the selection I wouldn't bother going in again. He's used to going to that world famous coffee place and it would seem this place is nothing like that because no matter what he asked for they didn't have or they had something else. Watching them go back and forth was annoying and honestly this is one of those places in a college town where all the young people who work there look to have a bit of an attitude. There is BTW, no menu up that I can see, or prices. I was looking for a muffin, they had none, and none of the sweet items they had out looked appetizing. You pretty much had to guess what most of it was and nothing had a price. I assume from the way this place is run and the few customers I saw that this is supported mainly by locals. He did like his iced coffee but after having a bad experience in there on another trip to Farmville when only 1 person was working the entire place and I left with nothing, I now figure , why bother. There are plenty of places to eat in Farmville.
