We waited forever to be told that they did not have what it took to make my quesadilla. So I switched my order to a salad with shrimp in it. The shrimp was nothing but rubber. I will not return

Blue Wing Frog is a true gem in the VA mountains! The food was incredible, owners & staff delightful, & art by Rachel Fitzsimmons stunning! Definitely plan a visit to Strasburg or stop by (like I did) on your way to/from Washington DC on I-81. Strasburg is the best little town & gorgeous murals are everywhere!!

We really enjoy this comfortable spot for its unique menu items! Tonight: hot buttered cider, not deli-style potato pancakes, catfish tacos, salad, and a burger.

Just a few minutes drive off 81 and we experienced one of the best home-crafted meals we’ve had in ages. Everything is made from scratch and with love. My husband had a burger with bacon on their house made bun, from scratch ketchup and mayo and the accompanying garlic potatoes were perfection. I had the catfish tacos with to die for homemade strawberry habanero hot sauce (3 outta 10 heat), cilantro crema, and purple slaw that I could have eaten a bowl of by itself and grilled pineapple. We took the expresso banana cake to go but couldn’t resist a bit even though we were stuffed. It’s a must try so unique and delicious! We ordered a $20 bottle of wine that went perfectly with everything. Prices very reasonable for the quality and craftsmanship of their food. Service was a delight! We’ll be back.

Friends introduced us to Blue Wing Frog. They had really hyped up the Grilled Shrimp and they had reason to do so!! The shrimp was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The homemade Roumelade was also great, although not really necessary. The shrimp paired well with 1234 - a delicious Red Blend. The Chicken/ Bacon Ranch salad was delicious and plentiful. The homemade carrot cake was the perfect finish. Robert and his wife, the owner was delightful to visit with!! Wish we lived closer to come back!!

I only had the cheese burger with a lemonade and some shrimp as an appetizer. Sounds simple right? I thought I was just grabbing a quick bite but this place was just amazingly good. All the food seems to be made completely from scratch. The bun on the burger would have been good on its own. The ketchup for the tater tot side is even made in house. Also I'm not much of an art guy but I really enjoyed the artwork in the place. I'm just scratching the surface of the atmosphere of this place. It's really great, I highly recommend you give it a try.
