This bakery is amazing and worth the stop when you’re in the area. The cinnamon rolls are the very best we have ever had…and now the standard we will hold all future cinnamon rolls up to. We had a wonderful conversation with the baker who shared how she even makes her own brown sugar. You can truly tell how authentically from scratch these rolls are. We also had the pumpkin pie which was equally amazing. Simply perfect experience!

We got a cinnamon roll and a pumpkin walnut muffin. The cinnamon roll was good but we thought it could be amazing with slightly more cinnamon filling. The dough and frosting are both delicious. The muffin was amazing! Perfect level of spice with a moist crumbly texture. We would absolutely come back for more muffins and other baked goods.

Down home comfort.

Every time I walk into the place, You can usually find the town historian there. I remember having a chat with him about the building of skyline drive.And I was so enthralled that he was interested in even talking to a regular customerbecause who takes out the time to give customer service nowadays?

I think this may be husband and wife owned.
My husband loves her pies.
She has Scrumpdiddlyumptious carrot cakes and even BREAKFAST BROWNIES.<< I had no self control when it came to those.
I would keep four at my house just handy because they were so tasty.

Regardless if you're local or you're just passing through, If you're looking for a great homey bakery...this is it.

I love Down Home Comfort Bakery for their delicious cakes, cheerful service, and excellent (too cheap, actually) prices. The 6" red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and sprinkles that I ordered for my girlfriend's birthday was baked fresh for pick up on the day of, looked great, and tasted even better.
The cake was only $20, including the custom happy birthday message, and would have been a bargain at twice the price.
It easily served a party of five a fat slice each, with plenty of leftovers (three slices) for the help, who also was very enthusiastic about his slice (as you can see in the picture).

Wow! Exactly what you imagine when you think of a homemade delicious American pie. We bought bourbon pecan, cherry and rhubarb+strawberry and fought over them the minute we got home. Can't wait to try the other flavors as well! Delicious and high quality stuff!

Fabulous local family bakery. The minute you walk in the door, the luscious smells make your mouth water. I picked up several small pastries and a loaf of still warm sourdough bread...Yummy! I wish I'd know about them sooner. I'll definitely be back to sample more of their wonderful selections.

I wanted to get my partner a homemade cake for his birthday. I contacted Maureen & picked it up this morning. Let me tell you it was delicious!! One of the best carrot cakes we've ever ate. So moist and the flavor outstanding. Thank you so much for making my partners birthday so yummy!! Will definitely be a return customer!

Such a sweet little bakery! Very authentic, family run, small batch goodies being made daily. Everything I've had so far is absolutely delicious! Can't wait to come again when I am passing through.
