Yes the service slow but its a small family restaurant so you have take that into account. Maybe they should hire more but i am not sure if they get enough traffic to afford it. The food is good though. Its worth the wait. The subs are piled with a ton of meat and the pizza was good.

Just received a delivery order from this establishment. The steak and cheese subs were barely warm, the rolls were soggy and the lettuce was wilted from sitting too long. The Calzone was barely warm. It is the weekend and I can accept the fact that delivery can be later/longer than usual. It took over an hour and a half for the order to arrive. What I can not accept is the condition the food was in when it arrived. When placing the order they did not let us know how long the food was going to take to be delivered. We live less than 5 minutes away in heavy traffic. There is absolutely no way the food can get to that condition in 5 minutes. I know because I usually order take out from there and pick it up myself. It is hot and fresh by the time I get home and I don't even have those warming bags for delivery. Which leads me to believe that when the order was placed an hour and half earlier it was made immediately and left sitting until it could be delivered. After receiving the delivery we called them back to complain, they offered to resend the order and it would take at least another hour to arrive. We did not want to wait since we told them we were all too hungry from the initial wait time. We also did not want to receive more warm soggy subs. We asked for a discount or credit back to our card. They do not credit back to the card. We asked to speak to the manager and the manager was on delivery or so we are told. (We could hear someone of authority in the back ground telling the poor soul speaking to us what to say). After 8 minutes we finally decided to accept the food order. We asked to hold the lettuce this time to avoid it getting wilted and soggy. 7 minutes later we received a phone call from Joe's asking that we send back the previous order to show the cook how cold the food was. If we knew thats what they wanted from the initial call we would not have eaten. I told them it was too late that since we had waited so long I had already eaten the sub minus the soggy parts and the kids were half done with theirs as well (Like I said we were very hungry from the wait). We were then told that with out returning the original order that they would not send us a new order and that they could only apply a 20% discount on our next order. I told them that we would never, ever order from them again. I informed them that we have supported this establishment for years, even through the pandemic we would order from them to help their business. It is decent pizza and subs and we have plenty of other less costly and decent pizza places in there area to choose from. I informed him that it was not accepted that I would never bring my business there again. It told the gentleman on the phone that I found it pretty crappy that they let an employee have to deal with the complaint and that the management is too cowardly to deal with a customer complaint. I told him I knew it wasn't his fault but the fault of management. The customer is not a priority with this establishment. That's my two cents and my experience. Take it for what its worth. I will never return there. Which is sad.

Hadn't been in Gainesville in quite a while! Took my daughter to Joe's for lunch. Coming from Rochester, NY, she's tough to impress. But, even she says that Joe's has the best cheesesteak subs in NOVA! The 8" sub is quite enough for most adults. The service was a bit slow. Especially since we were the only people in the place. Clean restrooms. Price equal to the quality. Worth the hassle of driving off of Lynton Hall Rd. Still a strong recommend
