El Tio Tex-Mex Grill

This is our go to Mexican restaurant in Gainesville. Definitely the best in town. This time around we ordered steak tacos and steak burrito and everything was excellent. Service is very quick. They promptly give you chips and salsa, and water. I wish they had arroz con pollo and the Virginia white sauce you can find at some Mexican restaurants.

loved it here. my first time and the bartender was very sweet and welcoming. along with the other staff and the warm atmosphere I am definitely without any doubt coming back here. thank you 🤍

Went there after hiking old rag in Shenandoah. Our waiter, Susan, was amazing! She was incredibly pleasant and got us everything we needed whenever we needed it. The food was the best Tex mex food I have ever had (especially the salsa and the fajitas).The service in general was great and I recommend it highly!

Restaurants marks entrees as GS. I ordered and let server know i was gluten sensitive and received fish tacos that were breaded and fried in shared fryer. I had taken a bite before I realized . They ere supposed to come with corn tortilla but instead came with flour.Furst and last time here

I am on the fence on this one. The food was OK. Service was great but... I felt rushed. I am not a slow eater but the move along/Great Service ruined visit.

Food quality and service has declined compared to 6 months ago. I have had stomach issues since dining here last night. Will not be returning!!!

Big rip off. Jacked up their prices big time, such that regular entrees are in the upper $20s price range. The food is decent, the prices are not. They seemed to have confused they are not a high end restaurant they are a mid range Mexican restaurant. Eventually people will wise up that average food should not be priced like a high end restaurant. Have gone there over the past 10 years, the last time we went and saw the grossly inflated prices and decided that was the last time we were going.

El Tio Gainesville catered a wedding reception for us. Oscar was ridiculously helpful in choosing menu items and ensuring all of our concerns were addressed. The food was delivered on time, hot, and (need I say) absolutely delicious. We ordered steak and chicken fajitas and set up a build your own fajita bar. There was plenty of rice, beans of your choice, tortilla chips, and an abundance of delicious guac, sour cream, and salsa. It was an absolute hit with our guests.

If I could give these guys six stars instead of five, I would. Many thanks to the El Tio staff!
