The sushi was okay but the hibachi just tasted off. Very bland and a watery yum yum sauce. Food also came out at different times, so I had my sushi 10 minutes before my husband got his hibachi dinner.Pros: great service!

The sushi rolls are mid-level, but considering the options in Gainesville, probably the best local place I’ve had yet. The staff are kind, they did forget parts of our order but did eventually get it out to us. The fish is good grade fish, tastes fresh, no hint of “fishy-ness”. The simple rolls had an extremely thin layer of rice to my surprise; patchily showing the seaweed underneath. However the specialty rolls were delicious, so definitely order those.

Nice place for your Sushi kick! Limited seating in my opinion but very good service all around. Plenty of parking and worth a wait for a seat if needed. My sashimi was perfect and the soups / appetizers were amazing, I can eat a ton so I ordered some Pad Thai for dessert. Lol, great place!Parking: In a plaza so there is plenty of parking especially later in the day.

Passion Fin has a mixed menu of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and some miscellaneous Asian dishes. We decided to try out a mix of everything and here's what we found.Satay Chicken - Not good. It was fried instead of grilled which is the traditional Thai way to cook it. The chicken was chewy and overdone due to frying it. The peanut sauce was different but good.Crab Wonton - Typical frozen, store bought, wonton you'd get at any cheap Chinese take-out joint. Was really hoping for something authentic and handmade. They weren't expensive but not worth the money.Hawaii Poke - not traditional Hawaiian at all. Big bed of greens with a tiny bit of seaweed salad and about 6 small pieces of seared tuna. Traditional poke bowl use raw seafood not seared. Very expensive at almost $14 and not worth the money at all. Really disappointed by this one.Baby Octopus - Menu stated this dish was grilled but they seemed to be boiled as they were chewy and rubbery. Out of the 6 tiny octopi we got only 2 were tender enough to eat and this dish was also very $$$. Grilled octopus when done right should melt in your mouth. These were like chewy rubber bands.Chirashi - Decent serving of sashimi on a thick pile of rice. The sashimi was fresh and good size portions. No complaints on this one for price, quality, or quantity.Dynamite Roll and Black Dragon Roll - These rolls were both a good choice with nice fresh chunks of sashimi and good sized rolls for the $.I think this restaurant does well on the sushi/sashimi but hit or miss on everything else. Service was good and it was a nice restaurant. And YES, I have lived in/been to Thailand, China, Japan, Hawaii, multiple times so have a solid frame of reference for my critique of the menu.

This place is ok, not very filling for the sushi for the price. Staff is very dry. Busy type of attitudes, I'm not sure why. I like Asian Garden in bistow is 10x better for there sushi.

This place was delicious and the presentation was so beautiful we almost didn’t want to eat it! Kind of dimly lit for my taste, and it was very busy so our server was distracted. The food makes up for a little of that though.

So I have reviewed this sushi place before. I am highly upset at management here. There are 2 waitresses today. One of Asian descent and a young American lady. To anyone who sits, it’s clear to see that they are giving the Asian lady 3 tables to the American girls one.THIS PISSES ME OFF. I watched both do their job for 45 minutes as I ate. Both are top notch. Both are personable, pretty and skilled.I like this place a lot and I visit it quite often. if this young lady is here I will be asking her to wait on me.Side note, I gave her a tip even though she did not wait one me. A very large tip. I don’t like bullies in any type.

There is no way this place can have 4.6 stars overall. We went for lunch on a Saturday and got terrible service and bland food. The waiter never came back to check on us, we asked for forks at the time of ordering for my kids and never got them. The sushi wasn't good, the ingredients were not fresh. Disappointing, not coming back to this place again.

The seating is open concept. Was seated right in between the only two tables that were dining, which made it an awkward experience. Was never offered anything to drink, they brought us water with lemon, which lemon is a trigger for my medical condition. I asked what else they had to offer on the drink menu, and my next drink had a lemon wedge on it as well. I know lemon is considered complimentary, but please ask if it is wanted with your customers beverage.

Ordered a selection of sushi, gyoza, shumai, and rolls. All of it was surprisingly flavorless with an unpleasant aftertaste that made my wife mouth feel numb. We had to throw most of the food away since it was so unpleasant. This was a take away order so I cannot speak to the restaurant or the service. This was my first eat at this restaurant and I will likely not try again.

Sick of The Lies

One time one person in my party got food poisoning. Happens sometimes and I'll give another chance if the food is decent. Then this last time the did something unforgivable and I will never return. They served my sushi dinner and all the rolls ordered with reheated white rice. Anyone that's ever eaten Chinese leftovers knows the texture of microwaved white rice. According to Jiro Dreams of Sushi the rice is more important than the fish in sushi. I'm not saying this has to be on Nobu's level of sushi but I expect better than a grocery store quality. So the kitchen must of run out of fresh rice and nuked white rice to keep up with the diners. Disgusting. And them I'm put in the awkward position of complaining which I hate to do. They should know better and not be greedy and serve microwaved rice. It literally was partially hard as reheated white rice is. Not fresh, warm, vinegar marinated sushi rice. So now I have to drive to Fairfax for Gyu Shige or Blue Ocean I literally googled best sushi in Nova after my experience here.

Great sushi and options for my kids who don’t love sushi. The shopping center itself has tons of free parking. This is a fun area.Kid-friendliness: Tons of options for kids who don’t love sushi
