Beautiful homey feel. The food is really well made, spices are just right. Their homemade hot sauce is made fresh from the garden- the cardamom ice cream was a sweet top off to a great meal. Their lamb dishes are excellent.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant this evening. She is a regular, so this may have had a favorable effect on our dining experience; however, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the ambience was very pleasant. The restaurant was about half full, and the noise level was still quite acceptable. The owner/waiter was very pleasant. My friend says that service does tend to slow down when the restaurant is busy, so don't come here if you in a big hurry. It's a small place, so making a reservation is a good idea.
Genuinely some of the best Afghan food my family and I have had! Beautiful restaurant and decor. Definitely recommend ordering the Zamarod Palow and the Aushak - honestly everything was delicious.

We really enjoyed the dumplings, rice, and spinach, those were our favorites. The lamb didn’t have much flavor, and the eggplant came out extremely fast on a very hot plate, so we weren’t sure if it had been cooked fresh.

I have had good Afghan food in Dubai, London, Boston, NYC, and DC. This is possibly the tastiest Afghan food I have eaten, and the owner-operator is a warm and friendly gentleman. Tastes like lovingly prepared home cooking. Even though we are from across the river in Potomac, we will be back for sure!

If you are willing to get out of your comfort zone and think more about Afghanistan than the wars there, you can let your palette try something in a the old Silk Road dating back thousands of years.
You can find various kabobs that will please any tastes, some delicious pallow / challow dishes with wonderful flavor and spices (not spicy), and some wonderful vegetarian dishes as well.
And top it off with some tea or coffee and their version of baklava.
Warm service from the owner on top of that with a very dry sense of humor completes the experience.
Also the portions are huge… “this is not a French restaurant, you have to come here hungry!” (Quoting the owner). So a great place to share dishes family style.
Nestled in quaint Great Falls, this is a little gem of a place culinary adventurers.

Wow, SO GOOD. Ive eaten a lot of Afghan food. This was truly delicious. As an indicator, the flat bread is made fresh at the restaurant. Tons of excellent vegetarian options (and of course plenty of meat options). They grow some of their own vegetables on the premises. One of the owners is the main server. He's hilarious and charming. I look forward to going back with an empty stomach.
