This a is small establishment but Jay is a very good cook .Food is seasoned well and excellent service he now sells alcohol but i dont drink .This is your go to place if you want nice down home

Dark inside with bar-like atmosphere. Jay was very friendly and service was quick. Crab Cakes were AWESOME! Sides were average. Well definitely get the crab cakes again. Yum!
The food was amazing! We were out just driving around and saw Jay's place and decided to stop. Jay and his daughter were so nice and the food was amazing! If you're in this area you should stop by, you will not be disappointed.

Jay's Restaurant is a small, couple-run business in Hague, Virginia. The food was absolutely incredible, and the prices were more than fair. Jay, the owner/chef, and his wife, Regina, both, were the shining examples of southern hospitality. Easily one of the best meals and service I have ever had. Ever.Get Jay's Cajun fried chicken or the pork chops. You can't go wrong with either.All dinners come with Texas toast, dessert, and two sides (some of the sides our group got were collard greens, green beans, and hush puppies -- all were fantastic. One of the group, a grown man who doesn't eat vegetables, loved the collard greens. The man doesn't eat vegetables and he ate them. I think that speaks for itself). The chicken was cooked perfectly. I've never had fried chicken as juicy and flavorful before. The seasoning was top notch. The meal that comes with two big pieces of fried chicken, Texas toast, two sides, and a dessert? $14. Man, I can't even get that good of a deal at McDonald's. I honestly can't believe how amazing the meal was.Jay and Regina, you've got an amazing place, and you two provide a product and service that is unmatched. I only wish I lived closer -- I'd be a regular.
